    What's The Postman Bringing?

In the last couple of weeks, I have received The Light Seer's Tarot, LXXXI - The Quareia Magicians Deck, The 5-Cent Tarot, and Green Glyphs Lenormand. Aside from the Quareia deck, I haven't had much time to look at the decks yet, but straightaway I like what I see

    Tarotbot - a robot tarot

I saw it yesterday. It's amazing. I think one of the best that I've seen for a long time. If I were a RWS reader, I'd probably use it as a main deck. It's fascinating.

Button Soup Tarot Deck - Kickstarter

So the Button Soup Tarot reached its goal on Kickstarter. The printing process will begin soon. It's not my deck, it's a community thing, but as I have two cards of my own in it, and it's a first for me, I was thrilled to see that people believed in it and helped fund it. I'll be looking at it in wonder when it's finally printed and shipped. It's available for pre-order if anyone is interested in purchasing one.

    Decks of The Decade

Absolutely, these may not be ‘bestsellers’ with the same reach as a mass-market decks but they are still sought after by readers. It would be fascinating to see how many copies are sold each year of decks published by the likes of USG and LS. There must be some on their listings which actually don’t sell huge volumes.

    Decks of The Decade

Agreed. Some are on sale for longer than mass markets I've owned when you count editions... Tarot of Prague first published in 2003 is currently on sale, as are the Rosetta (first ed 2011) and the Prisma Visions (2013). The Tyldwick was on sale for 6 years straight, I believe, and my favorite indie has been in print continuously since 2016. (Not that print status was what I was basing my own idea of a deck of the decade on.)

    Decks of The Decade

Not forgotten. Highly sought after year after year. Fetching quite a bit of money on ebay. Additionally, a lot of indie publishers do multiple editions over the years. There is always a demand.

    Meditation

Notes taken. I struggle with this too. Some days I’m sharp and others a vibrational mess and struggle to read the cards out of no where

Can You do a Tarot Reading for Yourself?

I also wanted to share a couple of videos that I saw about reading for oneself.

Can You do a Tarot Reading for Yourself?

Thanks, @peacefulocean. I'll give Kipper a go, then! I can only try! It does sound like they could be very useful together for a complete picture, and maybe I'll come back to Lenormand again some time.

Can You do a Tarot Reading for Yourself?

@Starlight That's a good question! It's hard to say definitively, but although Lenormand and Kipper are similar in a lot of ways, they are different enough that some people take to one, and not to the other. It might be worth a try. I don't have a whole lot of experience in Kippers yet (I've focused more on Lenormand up to now), but in Kippers there are more people cards than the Lenormand and in readings, I've noticed a bit of a different focus; whereas the Lenormand focuses a lot on external happenings, in my few experiences with Kipper readings, I have noticed that there is more of an element of shining a light on the inner aspects of motivation etc. This might be something that is right up your alley given your interest in Tarot for personal development and Shadow work!

Can You do a Tarot Reading for Yourself?

I've tried learning Lenormand and it just didn't click, so I thought Kipper might be a good alternative. But if I have trouble with one, will I also have trouble with the other? I use Tarot for personal development (Shadow Work; looking at an issue; etc.), but not for daily readings, so I'd like to try a no-nonsense system like Kipper. (And I'm learning that TdM falls into that category which gives me another option. )

    Decks of The Decade

Yes, indie and ltd editions are good quality but unless they get picked up for the mass market they tend to go OOP and forgotten. If they are OOP they can't be deck of the decade! That very definition means the deck has endured and made a major impact in the tarot community. Of all the indie decks I can think of maybe the Pagan Other Worlds; Starchild; and Tarot de St Croix have been around for more than a few years but these haven't had the impact of the Wild Unknown. The Wild Unknown has set the bench mark for a breakthrough deck.
