Review of Card Meanings plus Reversed Meanings

This book has a large section on the meanings of the cards as well as the reversed meanings.  There's a small section on the keywords for both upright and reversed cards and then there's a section of (quite a big one of about 200 pages) of full upright and reversed meanings.

After the upright and reversed meanings, then comes the instruction on how to choose signifiers.  I think we should cover the sections on meanings and then we can move on to choosing signifiers and pick up the pace.  Let's spend a few days as we get through this section, just reading and absorbing it all. I've never given as in-depth meanings as Benebell does, so it's new to me in some aspects.

I've never chosen signifiers before so that will be interesting to learn, too.  Once we learn all that, then we can get started on actually doing spreads.  I've always used a 7-card spread of my own making but I think I want to start out doing three-card spreads with both reversals and upright cards when we get there.  I think using the more involved reversed meanings will give really in-depth meanings even with just three cards.

My thoughts on using reversals might be different than  people usually do.  I've been reversing one section of cards and then shuffling them in but somehow that doesn't feel right to me.  What I'm going to do is just shuffle all the cards upright (the whole deck) and then put the cards down in a fan and ask the sitter to choose three cards but, with one reversed, keeping all the cards face down till they're turned over face up by me when I read them.  I've just never gotten so I can feel comfortable with me doing the reversing.  It seems more accurate to have the sitter do it.  You can do whichever technique seems right to you.
