VGimlet
Last week with the Otherworld. After using it for a month I'm kind of "meh" about it. It's not bad, but I'm not attached to it like I get to some decks. (Now, if the Pharos tarot was a 78 card deck...lol)
Amberjune
@VGimlet Mel (of Pharos Tarot) is currently deciding on a new deck and has posted pictures on her website. There is an amazing Priestess posted there, would love to see a full deck with this art. Her decks really are among my favorites because she understands symbols and colors and their meaning in tarot. My decks for this week are two beloved ones: Nature's Whispers oracle and the Ancestral Path Tarot. I like the Story Medicine Tarot that I am working with this week, but have not fully bonded with it so far. It's like we speak parallel languages. Happy reading everyone. I got an email from her site the other day and haven't opened it yet. (My email account is OLD and I get TONS of mails. At some point soon I need to let it go, start a new one and let the old one be a spamcatcher.) But a new deck, you say? Off to check this out. Her stuff is SO good, informed, and well thought out! A rarity these days!
Mi-Shell
Since Wednesday we are home for a week, before traveling to eastern Quebec. For this "home week" I am using the Linestrider Tarot. I want to do the monthly Full Moon reading with it, - even if it is a little late. I will not do a write up for it, just work the cards 🙂 Virtual hugs to you all! 🤗
AJ-ish/Sharyn
welcome home and happy travels Mi-Shell! I'm going to do another week with the Telluric Tarot, such fun I'm having with it! Thank you VG
Bodhiseed
I'm in this coming week with the Greenwood Tarot paired with the Rune Cards. Waving hello to all you DoWers! 💚
Gardener
Hello DoWers! I love the new word, Bodhiseed! Count me in for the Patchwork Tarot, which came in the mail just a couple days ago. Psychedelic! What a trip!

Agreed. I have liked all of her desk so far. I'll have to go look at her website and see what she's up to right now. In fact I liked the Pharos so much I'm going to keep using it, which I don't usually do with 22 card decks and oracles I'm using in conjunction with tarot. But...not ready. 🙂
Gardener
I want to do a "getting to know your new deck" spread with my Patchwork. @AJ-ish/Sharyn or @PathWalker any suggestions on how to shuffle? Do you just spread the cards around on your bed in a big pile and go - swirl, swirl, swirl?
Madame Squee
Thank you for this thread, VG! 🍂 I'm in with the Tarot of the Cloisters (created by Michelle Leavitt, published by U.S. Games). I traded this deck away years ago and have missed it a lot. But finally, another one has arrived! As I went through the cards this afternoon, everything I recalled loving about it rushed back at me double: large round cards and stained glass patterns; sharp black lines; hypnotic central focal point; jewel tone colors; soft brown faces; gothic cloister font; familiar RWCS design. I also appreciate the LWB as a nifty little guide. It presents three methods of choosing a significator, including numerology by date of birth. Three spreads are detailed in it (Astrological, Celtic Cross and Relationship). Plus, its card meanings are generally short and simple, resembling the content of a fortune-telling primer, i.e. Four of Vessels. An unexpected offering or gift. PathWalker
@Madame Squee ah I do love my Cloisters too - one of the very first decks I bought! @Gardener - I think I might have written about shuffling in the trade thread about these decks, but here you go anyway . . . "One way I use mine is to use counting after shuffling. So I divide the deck repeatedly with my hands, but with the intention that I will "count in" when I'm done. I count using the first letter of the name of the person I'm reading for. That way the card you arrive at will not be chosen because of it's size comparative with others near it. Hope that helps as a starting point." I have tried other ways, but always come up against the problem of size or back recognition. I either know what card it will be because I know the backs, or I will always miss out some cards because they are so narrow they never "make the cut". I encourage folks to try out what works for them though, and to share here on the forum what they try Enjoy PathWalker
TheFeeLion
Count me in too 😊 I'm going to be using Fairy Lights again this week, I want to get to know it better before my Tarot of the Divine arrives and I get stuck on that lol I decided to go through some of the cards today and see what their pairs were (I mentioned about that last week). So far I've layed out the majors and their partners and there's some pretty interesting combos. Sorry the pic is only of the first 12 majors, I thought I'd taken another pic with the other 10 but I hadn't and I am not getting out of bed till I wake up in the morning lol. At least it give you an idea anyway 😊 Edited September 5, 2020 by TheFeeLion
AJ-ish/Sharyn
I put my Patchwork deck in a grocery bag and hung the bag on the shelf next to me. Reached in with both hands and flipped them around then pulled cards like someone pulling the lucky number.
Bodhiseed
@Madame Squee, that's an interesting (and nice) interpretation of the Four of Cups!
TheFeeLion
Oops lol I fell asleep while I was mid edit! The perils of posting from a phone in bed😂 Before I so rudely fell asleep I was going to add that I think this deck will be perfect for this months ISG 😁
Bodhiseed
This week I'll be using the Greenwood Tarot, created by Chesca Potter and published by Thorsons. The oracle I'll be using is the Rune Cards, created by Tony Linsell and Brian Partridge and published by Anglo-Saxon Books. Today's draws are the Ace of Wands and Ehwaz: Potter illustrates her Ace of Wands with a bow drill, a primitive way to start a fire by using friction to create heat. The heat produces an ember in the sawdust of the drill's small bowl which is then placed into a tinder bundle and coaxed into a flame. The friction of the bow drill is similar to the agitation and restlessness we often feel when inspired by an idea. But like the ember, we must nurture it to build a fire. Ehwaz (literally 'horse') is a rune that represents teamwork with a partner who can aid us in reaching a goal. Such a trusted companion - our 'fire tender' - can help us direct our enthusiasm so we don't get distracted by what is unimportant. Rowing harder doesn’t help if the boat is headed in the wrong direction. ~ Keniche Ohmoe

TheFeeLion
Waaaa! My deck got wet! 😭 Now I've gotta work out how to get the damaged cards flat-ish 🤔
Amberjune
oh no, @TheFeeLion! I hope you can flatten them. Maybe press them in a heavy book?
TheFeeLion
@Amberjune I've managed to dry them and they're under the two heaviest books I own. I've had some great suggestions on how I could flatten them and have my fingers crossed one of them will work!

vulprix
The Bonefire Tarot has been treating me so well this week. The deck’s art is so warm, modern and unpretentious. It’s like I’ve gotten a warm hug from an old friend. I do treasure my copy. I find it an easy reader, with symbolism that is scattered in a way like how images might come up in the mind. For me, anyway. 🙂 The deck has challenged me, too, but always in a gradual way. I hope everyone’s decks have been friendly and comforting!
