JesseMcGatha
Hi everyone, I wanted to introduce myself. I'm a puzzle, game, and tech enthusiast. I've been fascinated with tarot and Oracle decks since I was a teen. I am most compelled by the inspiration and storytelling aspect of tarot and Oracle cards. I'm currently publishing a roleplaying game that uses a custom Oracle deck, for example. Does anyone have suggestions for good storytelling applications of tarot?

You read the cards, there's a little story there. It's not Wuthering Heights, but it's a rough sketch that applies to your question. But as far as appications go, no. You can't get any kind of narrative that could be generated by an app and be worth reading. Is that what you were asking?
Trophies and Medals TheFeeLion
@katrinka I think what they meant was ways to use tarot to write fictional stories? @JesseMcGatha if that's the case I'm pretty sure there's a couple of tarot story type threads in the Fun and Games section. Also, I'm positive there are few members here that do something similar

Even then it's not going to be any good, unless they bring a lot of writing talent to the table. You can get a rough outline from the cards, but the wordsmithing is another matter entirely. Trophies and Medals le_charior
Hi @JesseMcGatha, welcome to the forum! If you are interested in Tarot as a vehicle for storytelling, and if you don't know it, check out Italo Calvino's novel The Castle of Crossed Destinies! Hope you'll find a lot of inspiration here! Yes, I happen to be using it to frame a situation for a roleplaying game quest, so the players themselves bring the story specifics, but the same is true of novels or short stories. The reading frames the situation, then the real work begins!
