What are your fav recent mass market decks?

I've been staying mostly out of the loop for the last few years, only catching the scent of the Phantomwise Tarot, Hush Tarot, and a couple new editions of old favs (really enjoying all of these). I see lots of discussion online about shiny, new indie decks but less about the more accessible, new mass market decks.

I'd love to know what I've missed and see affordable, mass market decks get some love. So, which new decks from the last few years have you been enjoying/coveting? Which were your favs?

Ooh, some really nice choices there @FindYourSovereignty and thank you for the links! Tarot Of The Abyss is really growing on me. Tarot of the Mystical Moments is one I'd heard of but not seen. On paper I shouldn't like the art style but I actually really do.

I sadly missed out on The Alice Tarot before it went oop and Mystical Moments sort of stepped into its place, for now. I hope one day I will be blessed with Baba Studios Alice deck. I do like the way it reads - it evens insightful and offers a lot to the reading.

It looks like it would be good for introspective readings, like a less dark and trauma-ish Ceccoli.

Aside from reprints of various historical decks, the only mass market Tarots released in the past three years that I particularly like are the Heaven and Earth and the Pistis Sophia. I hope Red Wheel releases the latter as a full deck so it could really match the Sol Invictus, which is one of my all-time favorites.

I've always been fascinated with the angels of the Shemhamphorash. I missed the Notoria kickstarter but it's recently been released as a deck-only. Will reserve my judgement until I have it in my hands but it's highly promising.

Here are a few from the past year or two. I don’t have the last one, but I hear it is wonderful.

Tarot of the Abyss

@FindYourSovereignty I've also had my eye on Tarot of the Abyss ... but didn't pull the trigger.

Mostly b/c I worry that I don't connect with B&W decks ...?

I wanted a B&W deck ... so purchase Bianco Nero some years ago ... love the art work ... but every time I read with it ... I fail to connect and wind up doing a clarification spread with a different deck *sigh*

It's in the "purgatory" section waiting to see if I can bear to give it away.

I ordered the Fyodor Pavlov Tarot mass market edition a month ago  ... an experiment with minimal color but not pure B&W.

It still hasn't come. My e-mail to the company went unanswered.

Amazon says it ships in 1-2 months. So it's out of stock with all vendors. I'm on the fence if I should just cancel the order.

A friend who works in a small publishing house told me there's a world wide paper shortage. I wonder if this is affecting the printing of Pavlov deck?

I went to check this deck out and I like it. The minimal color really enhances the black and white art just enough. I don’t know what stops me from the Tarot of the Abyss, but as you shared about the Bianca Nero, I am not sure I will connect enough to be able to read with it. .some things to consider here.

Yes ... it's funny we learn things about ourselves. Apparently as much as I like the IDEA of a B&W deck ... my Intuitive Self needs colors. Who knew?

I am trying to cancel the Pavlov deck from Thrift Books. I found it on US Games site. More expensive ... but they say it's in stock. I'm hoping this deck hits ... minimalist color ... yet enough to engage Intuition.

Plus I LOVE the Lovers card. LOL sometimes i have to buy a whole deck because I fall in love with one card.

I recently got the Weiser Tarot which I've been loving using, and managed to get a nearly brand new copy of the Japaridze Tarot on eBay. The imagery is so interesting. I'm going to be ordering a copy of the Symbolic Soul Tarot as well which is a new release from Lo Scarabeo.

I'm going to have a fun evening looking up all these decks 😁.

Going back 4 years to 2018, I'd also like to mention Poppy Palin's Everyday Enchantment Tarot, which has been on my mind since I heard the sad news. It's a wonderful deck that I haven't used as much as I'd like to, having put off trimming it. I definitely want to get it de-bordered and start really working with it in the next couple months. Might be a good, holiday project to trim and edge her.
