What decks, books or other tarot-related items are you waiting for in the post or have recently ordered?

There is a separate thread in the Chat area (subscribers only) for anything else you are waiting for - The postwoman isn't bringing me tarot

We are on to part 2, we need to get to Part 14 in time to match the longevity of the original incarnation of this thread back on Aeclectic 😀

Archived - Part 1

On its way to my "local delivery office" is my Really Badly Drawn deck from Kickstarter

Doing my part to increase the volume of posts:  I don't know when I last posted in the postman thread, so I'm going to do a first quarter of 2023 recap!

I have received so far in 2023:

Love Your Body Cards.  For my "appearance oracle" blank in my collection.
Liminal Spirits Oracle.  A reacquisition for me.  I gave it away but kept thinking about the magical artwork!
Influence of the Angels Tarot.  Already on the giveaway pile.  I was looking for a replacement for the LS round Shining Angels Tarot, but this ain't it!
Into the Void: The Black Cat Tarot.  You can't have too many cat decks!  And I needed the perfect BLACK cat deck.
Woodland Wardens Oracle.  Another scratching of the "oracles with keywords for spread cards" itch!  And so beautiful!  My tarot society friends took it over at our last meeting!
Guardian of the Night Tarot.  I thought it was one species per card, but it isn't.  Giving this one away too.
Psychic Tarot for the Heart Oracle Deck.  A giveaway TO me!
Psychic Tarot Oracle Deck.  I had to rebuy so I could compare the two.

From the Llewellyn tarot sale:

Medieval Fortune Telling Cards.  I needed another German-suited deck.  Really I did.
Edgar Allan Poe Tarot.  The art isn't anything to write home about, but literature!  Reading up on the stories and poems now.
Witchling Academy Tarot.  Although it makes me feel old, the storytelling feature seems to be working.
Symbolic Tarot of Wirth.  I forgot that I previously figured out that the "symbolic" minors are simply aligned with the first 10 majors.  (The minors have pictorial elements of the first 10 majors pasted on them.)  I was thinking it was a Spanish tarot/Eude Picard system, but not.  Giving away.

More oracles with keywords!
Enchanted Unicorn Oracle.  I wanted a unicorn deck but not a fluffy one.  I got this psychedelic one instead!  It also has a strange connection with the Voynich manuscript.  And a Latin plant name on each card (translated in the booklet).
Oracle of Novice Witches.  Also a bit psychedelic!  12 female witches (actual and storied), 12 male witches (same), 13 witchy items, and 13 familiars.

And I'm awaiting:

Preordered:  Spirit Keeper’s Tarot, Revelation Edition, second printing
From Kickstarter:  Urban Incantations Tarot

And just ordered from Studio Artemy, thanks to a sighting on a YouTube video:

Fortuna Tarot Deck Amethyst Aura.  A minimalist tarot with shiny bits.
Astrosoul Oracle Deck.  Also minimalist and shiny astro oracle.
Ethereal Orbs Oracle Deck.  A mansions of the moon oracle.

Ok, I think that's it for me!  Now to update my collection on my profile!

Hmm,

I finally caved in to the Wildwood Tarot. Hope it is a genuine version.

Ordered from Abe Books, ISBN and size seem genuine.

From abe you should be safe; they don't usually have mass produced things in vast numbers !

I am anxiously waiting for Amazon to drop off the Tarot of Dragons by Shawn McKenzie.  It should be here in the next couple of hours 😀.  I hope it ends up being a deck I can read with but if not it will definitely be eye candy 😁.  I just received The Herbal Astrology Oracle as a b-day gift from a dear friend, and that deck is AMAZING!  So much more than I even hoped it would be and I am primarily a Tarot person!

This is my first deck delivery in a very long time. 4 decks in total 🥳

These were printed through printerstudio, they are reproductions of old fortune telling decks. I made the reproductions myself (with permission!). They are just for my personal use, so this isn’t promotional content.

The linen cardstock is so lovely 🥰 Now I am going to look at some nice boxes or other storage solutions.

Those look so lovely!  I also like their linen cardstock.  I think I once purchased the playing card sized plastic case from printer studio but I'm not impressed with it.

Thank you! I opted to not buy any of their tins or boxes, mostly to keep costs down. I had a discount code and buy ordering these decks all at once the shipping was really affordable. I have ordered some wooden boxes from another place that I hope will work. We shall see!

My order of tattwa cards from MPC arrived today:

They're used for scrying/developing astral senses. One of the books I have on them also outlines a divination system to use. I quite like the card stock they've been printed on, it just seems like a standard smooth one. Also they are a great size (US game size which is just shy of bridge size I think).

Also Minetta's book on tea-cup fortune telling arrived:

Dog-eared and old, just how I like my books! 😂 I'm yet to actually get into tea leaf reading, but I'm 'preparing' for it. This book should combine with Cicely Kent's well, and should be more than enough to get decent readings.

Yeats used to use those.... There ii a set in the Yeats exhibition in Dublin.

You USED to be able to visit that virtually, but the best I can find is a youtube tour for kids.

Thank you for sharing that video @gregory very informative. I think during the late 1800s and early 1900s they were used by a fair few who were in occult circles. The golden dawn (surprise surprise) had written on them and how to use them. Albeit brief and not very in depth.

I wonder if they inspired Yeats in anyway, or perhaps helped push his creativity beyond the norm? He was a great artist and poet. These tattwa symbols are supposed to have quite a powerful effect on the mind, so I've heard.

My PussyCat Tarot, which I managed to track down in a mainland European shop, as well as my MIMIT tarot, from a Kickstarter last year - two decks I can barely stand to wait for lol

Today the postman brought me the Numinous Tarot and the Threadbound Oracle. I've been wanting the Numinous deck for a while and finally went ahead and ordered it. This will be my 'Deck of the Week' for the next couple of weeks, I'm sure 🙂

The Numinous has diverse images of people, by gender and skin colour so I'm very happy with it.

I got my Perino (it's MASSIVE !) and also Le Tarot Mystique and Chagall Tribute from the Museo. I HAD backed the former on KS, but my beloved got an email offering the regular size which I hadn't seen - I TRY not to look there, but he gets emails as he occasionally buys gifts for me there) at which point I realised the KS cards are 23.5 x 15.9 cm  - too big to use - so I cancelled and bought the sensible size.

Ordered the Golden Tarot of the Tsar from a local online shop that thankfully has a copy on hand. I've been looking for a thoroughly Christian deck that also features scenes from the Bible, and I think this is it. Hopefully it arrives in time for Holy Week next week.

I’m very keen on decluttering nowadays so cut the postie out by purchasing apps for my iPad instead of actual cards -

  • Quantum Tarot 2.0
  • Mystic Dreamer Tarot
  • Voyager Tarot
  • Fool’s Dog Tarot Sampler (multi deck patchwork)
  • Sacred Geometry Cards for the Visionary Path

plus the apps for the Photographic Card Deck of the Solar System / Elements so I can use these for reference and get rid of the coffee table books. I’m hoping to have a go at the ISG exchange with the Voyager as it has photo collages on each card and they display big enough on the iPad to see all the details.

I'm waiting on the Transient Light Tarot which is due sometime this week 🤞🏻

I got my Urban Incantations Tarot yesterday!

So now only awaiting my preordered Spirit Keeper’s Tarot and Llewellyn Tarot of the Vampires.  (I shouldn't even mention all this because I'll probably be shopping again soon . . . .)

My Tarot Minchiate al Leone Di Girolamo finally arrived yesterday! The cards have a wonderful satin finish and it's a wonderful version of the Minchiate al Leone. The book has some of the best interpretations of the Majors I've seen, comparable to Brian Williams' book. I look forward to diving deeper into it when I have more time! You can see more about the deck here: http://tarotminchiate.com/

Oddly I got the package and the tracking information on the same day. I didn't know it was even in the mail.
