Eric13
Food tends to fly all over the place when I eat so I don't like to get any only my cards. Drinking, it will only dribble down my chin so Im not worried about that. Although my cards also make good coaters. Good morning.
MuninnMissinHuginn
Eating and reading - more than one task at a time, way beyond my skill level. 😆
Wyrdkiss
are you referring to when reading for other people? Or just when I am doing work for myself? I tend to be extra careful with my cards, so a sealed bottle of water off to the side at most. If in session w/ a querent I would never eat in front of them, and would have them put away and wait until completion as well, just as a therapist would. Chariot
I have a special pure white china tea-for-one set—2-cup pot, cup and saucer, and tea cosy—that I use when I'm doing readings for myself. It's part of the calming ritual I do, to get myself in the frame of mind for a good reading. I turn on my salt lamps, light a couple of candles, make the tea, put the tea cosy over top of the pot, write the date, deck and question in my journal, shuffle and deal the cards onto my white cotton tarot cloth, and turn them over. Then, while I'm looking at the reading and getting a feel for it, I'll pour the first cup of the tea and sip it. It's a wonderful way to clear the head and make the reading time 'special.' (Incidentally I'm normally a coffee hound, so the tea is always a special moment set aside.) I never try to eat while I'm reading, though. If I'm reading for friends (I've never read for strangers) we are usually sitting around the table drinking 'something.' I've had no problems with that.
