First of all, I'd like to thank Ix Chel, our host and catalyst for this study group.

To those who wish to join, you don't have to answer the 60 questions in any particular order. Just pick any that interests you, think carefully about what the question really entails, and post your answer there. You can go back later to those that you feel require more thought or even meditation.

You can treat these as your daily Tarot prompts, setting aside some time from your day to actually commune and reflect upon the Courts. At three questions a day, one can go through the entire set in three weeks. You can opt to post long and detailed answers, or it can be as short as a meaningful sentence, it's all up to you. You may even attach pictures if you want to. :)

Again, you're not compelled to answer all of the 60 questions, but think about what an achievement it would be if you finish them. :) If you do plan to complete them, you may want to create your own journal over in the Daily Draws forum. Just create a thread with your own name in it. Every day, after posting in the different questions here, just copy them into your journal thread (by adding them as replies/posts) so that you can see all of your thoughts and musings in one place. This is quite an undertaking, but at the end of 60 questions, if you really put some effort into this, you would see how quickly your understanding of the Courts has improved, how it has become fuller, deeper, and more fleshed out.

The original 60 Questions were listed in THIS POST from the blog of the redoubtable Tarotist Kelly-Ann Maddox. I recommend you to watch

as a guide before you start the series.

So now, choose any question that appeals to you, and let's get the ball rolling. See you in the threads! ;)

P. S. Just a tip - you can see which questions you have already answered before in the study group folder itself. First, open the subforum:

https://www.thetarotforum.com/60-quirky-court-cards/

You see a list of threads, right? On each thread, you'd see two icons on its left. Check out the left most one. If it's just a piece of paper then you haven't posted in it yet. If it has a square smiley in it, then you have already answered that question.

Also, if you created your own journal, you can actually post the details of any reading you've made in there, not just your answers to this study group. You may want to check out the other journals there if you want to get an idea of what they're all about.

If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask.

Even if the 60 Questions have all been posted, everyone is free to chime in anytime if they wish too. :D

Ultimately, they're a way of testing and even challenging your own knowledge of the Courts. Some of the answers of the other participants have made me reconsider my ideas about them. Like upon seeing a question I'd already have an answer in mind but upon perusing the other answers I'd think "yeah, I never thought of that!" I can say that this has personally been a very rich learning experience for me. :)

So, as we're nearing the end of the study group, I'm finding that I'm getting to grips with the Kings and Queens and the Pentacles, Cups and Swords.

But the Wands suit - although they are full of fiery energy - is still a bit vague for me. Are they a bit like a wildfire, perhaps? Would they be your adhd-type people (and I say this with the greatest respect, because adhd gifts are beautiful and include creativity and a valuable way of looking at things with a fresh perspective. But perhaps the follow-through is more difficult to accomplish), and more spontaneous characters?

Pages are still a bit of a foggy mystery - they're so young and without experience, but the Knights are slowly making their way out of the mists.

Well done to Kelly-Ann for creating these prompts, and a big thank you to Ix Chel[/member] for sharing this study here. :)

Starlight, I think of the wands courts as the quintessential extroverts.  They love to experience things and from those experiences to create and illuminate the world.  They have a lot of passion for life and what they care about.  They can be charming but can also have a temper.  The page is fire of earth, so I see this page as someone very spontaneous often getting burned (caught) lol. Not malicious, just mischevious and adventurous. The knight of wands is fire of fire, acting and reacting before thinking things through.  The Queen is fire of water, so she can have a temper she cares about feelings and making a good impression.  She is fun loving and charismatic, she is a social butterfly.  The King, he is fire of air, I think he can be wildfire (think of how air feeds and spreads fire).  Also charismatic, intelligent and passionate, but he will burn bridges when crossed.

Thanks, Jewel[/member] ! Your explanation really helped me visualise the Wands family and what they're like. Court cards can be quite difficult to pin down and your explanation reminds me of the writing advice, "Show, don't tell". I can see what the characters are doing in your explanation so I understand them a bit better. :) Thank you so much!  <3

My pleasure to help out.  I have struggled with the courts a lot what finally gave me my personal "AHA!" moment with them was looking at elemental correspondences, getting a feel for the qualities of the element and then seeing how the elements interact with each other.  There is debate on whether Knights should be Air and kings Fire or vice versa.  To me it makes more sense that Kings are Air because they are more mature and would think things through more and have more experiences to draw on.  That is my personal preference in associations but it is not the only way (just like anything Tarot  ;D)

Starlight, I was reading in the media forum and ran across a thread where Trogon was telling about this really funny story about the court cards which shows them all in action, it is hilarious and I think it will give you another great picture of the courts.  It is about the 4 Kingdoms (swords, pentacles, wands, and cups) and how they react to a dragon being on its borders.  Here is the link:  https://msrayspsychicepisodes.wordpress.com/2013/08/23/holding-courts-the-four-kingdoms-and-a-dragon/

I have just posted my answer on the last question from the 60 Quirky Court Cards Study Group. I love to read all the answers. I can learn so much from others perspectives.  And I have so much fun with reading the answers from others.

I would like to thank everybody on this forum to make this study group possible. And last but not least I would like to thank Kelly-Ann Maddox, because her question list was the inspiration for this idea. And her permission to use this list made it possible, to change this idea in to a real study group.

Bahahaha I just read that link and it's absolutely hilarious! I think my favourite bit is this... 'Knight of Wands, whispering: “Okay, here’s a plan. How about Sir Pouts-a-lot over there woos and distracts his new dragon love with his bad poetry while Mr. Let’s-make-a-deal throws a lasso around one of its extremely large, sharp horns and tries to reason with it to go nicely with him, while you stick your sword up its ass and I take those virgins into the woods, change their status, and laugh at you?”' XD
