Lo Scarabeo put up this spread for "interviewing" a new deck of cards.  I have several new ones and I want to try it.  Had anyone done this said before?  If so what were your impressions? I'll probably do this over the weekend when I have more time.

I used to think deck interviews were stupid ... but then I got into doing it here on this forum DotW and found I enjoy it.

I use my own interview spread which has 7 questions.

This one looks pretty standard ... 3 of the 4 questions are same/similar to my interview spread.

@Misterei that sounds good.  I guess it will give you a better idea of what you're if questions they're be most helpful with.

I've moved this thread to the Tarot Spreads section

Here are some other deck interview spreads as well.....

@DanielJUK Thanks for the information. I'll definitely check that out, I have a few new dicks as I said and I thought it might be fun to try some of these.

I tried a new interview spread, but I am not finding these spreads particularly helpful.  I’m not likely to use a deck to try to fit my circumstances.  I did an interview of the The Vintage Tarot which I got recently.  The answer to these spreads always seem to cryptic to me.  The answer I got from the Vintate Tarot spread is that it is unconventional and help with family matters, money,  and equilibrium.  I had to drop two extra cards for clarification.

I don’t want to do these interviews anymore, if I want to read with a particular deck it’s because my intuition is telling me to.  The more one works with a deck the more it gets in tune with your vibrations anyway.  I can do this interview in a week and I’d expect to get a different answer if I end up using it frequently.

I thought interview spreads were totally useless and stupid for years. I recently developed more of an affection for the practice using it for DotW on this forum. That being said, I had to make my own interview spread b/c many of what I saw on the internet seemed insipid. Still, I wished you posted pix of the Vintage Tarot. I think it would be fun to see that deck 😉

I got along fine for 44 years with NEVER doing an deck interview. It's a new-fangled thing and not everyone's cup of tea. Plus you're not wrong that they can be kinda stupid.

Deck interviews are a fun way to interact and bond with your new cards. They are not absolutely necessary, but they do give me novel ideas on how to approach, read, and study them. If you think that they only serve to obfuscate though, dampening your enthusiasm with your new deck, then I don't think it will hurt to dispense with them @Tom.

I remember Tom's Vintage Tarot since I hearted them when he posted them on the Postman thread @Misterei

@Tom @Akhilleus

Never mind the deck interview ... we just want to see pix of that deck in action };>

One thing I liked about creating my own deck interview is that it *does* have an advice of the cards position so it feels a bit more like a "real reading" vs. some trendy internet nonsense.

We all find some process to become acquainted with a new deck. Before deck interviews, I simply read on myself with the deck and noted whether or not it would work for clients, etc. etc.

@Misterei if you can share your interview spread with us that would be great. Here are some sample cards.  I like this deck, I already feel a bond to it.

Brings the interesting question do the cards know what they contain... As asking them about it seems a strange choice, if we expect something else to answer, addressing that more directly may do a better work. Otherwise is something like drinking the glass instead of the water.

Cards are a tool that I use to communicate with my Guidance Team and the highest levels of the Spiritual World.  I'm not asking a question of the cards.  They are a vehicle through which I receive answers from Spirit.  In a deck interview, Spirit may have opinions regarding the efficacy of a given deck.

Good choice, but not everyone can do that. And if someone can't, what they ask becomes important. Asking the cards doesn't seem great choice in my view, asking something in the cards may carry its own laws, if the answer we can expect will be changed to fit the role of what we ask.
Asking our teams is always the best choice, if one can do it... But most can't. Well, they can ask, but they can't hear the answer. : )

Hi @Tom

I had actually made a whole thread about this a while ago.

Here's a link to where I posted my interview spread which is based-on one I saw posted here ... but I tweaked it a bit.

@Misterei thank you.  I am still relatively new here so it does help.  I still can't figure out how to properly navigate the forums, but I'm getting there.
