I just purchased this on Kindle, currently 9.99 from 40.  (On Amazon ca)

The Complete Book of The Petit Lenormand: German Method https://a.co/d/2ffhdYf

I actually saw it couple weeks and added it to my wish list.

I been waiting for the 3 enclopedias to come on kindle, but still only in book form.

I also was looking for a more German style as though I got andy b book, I was looking for more.

At first thought was going to be fluffy after the preface,  I'm just now getting to German suits which is what I really looking for.

I know ttam forum mods in general put forth there is no lenormand school of learning. That is one thing she says at the beginning how there is German, French, Brazilian and each as their value. The key thing is to pick one...

Which to personally use tarot as example , one has to decide if the swords are fire or air.

Where I stopped off to write this, she is written the differnt between French and German style. And surprisingly enough ( for me) devoted some pages to Brazilian style...AND REVERSALS

She doesn't use them, but endorses them if you like to use them, and gives some reason. I will take a look

The 36 cards themselves get about 2 to 3 pages except for the coffin which gets 5 pages.

The subchapter themes cards as personality , behavior seems to talk about the 36 cards as if they were people but the next chapter deals with the court cards.. so you get an even deeper look as the cards as people.

Then you get in the cards as profession, work( they 2 differnt things here, ) money, travel , time, Magick ( that interested me)

By now as I looked through the sections,  there hasn't been any spreads yet. But you get the feeling of sort of feeling for the cards energy

Chapter 4 talking about codes which leads to Mod!. , facing,, law of repetition, I'm 53 percent throughout the book

Starting to see some little spreads but they are set up to explain a principle of reading, which gives it a better flow .

Now she explains some cards combos as they explain these principles but not for every card,  it goes rider, ship, 5 snake, coffin, scythe and so forth. Then talks about more laws  and all that in chapter 4.

Chapter 5, combo techniques us 63 percent on my kindle

This gives some more laws, philosophy and goes into 2 cards combo,

2 pages on how cards form multiple pairs in a line spread. Talks about finding hidden card.

Chapter 6 starts expanding to 2 card card spread, 3 card, goes to 3x3 spread ( called 3 card spread extended.

3 more spreads are shown, with my interest piqued by her grandmother spread.

Chapter 7 is the grand tableu. It is actually the last chapter and heck of lot in depth

The houses, ! Covered 2x

Techniques we know today, knighting, mirroring are like minor techniques.

Then it goes into how to read your own grand tableu.

By now, just skimming along, I looked at a good 600 hundred pages, it made think of the gt in a new way that's for sure.

The author is very very well read, and experienced. There are very nice illustrations

You mean the Meuris books? Yes, me too. My house is too small to buy any more physical books.😉

Always loved dem thicc instructional books, and running at 600+ pages this will definitely hit that spot. I take it that the interpretations here are more or less consistent with the Boroveshengra book since they both follow the German method @HOLMES

I knew there was a Dutch school, but didn't know that a Brazilian one existed.

Hehe, i had to look for andy b book.

Before looking at the differences, in a way it is like comparing vintage wines.

Andy book is half its size,  the type setting is bigger,  and was designed to be as concise as possible.

This book being bigger has the luxury to divide the cards up past their base meanings into specific sections, health, travel.

I first looked at the playing cards insert and specifically at snake, and coffin because they were close together.

Andy insert describes older female ,

But on his actual card description earlier in the book, her age doesn't come up.

Which in the grand schemes of things the snake won't always be an older cougar( hehe).

Odette book definitely has clubs as acorn

And diamonds as bells.

However looking for the insert meanings they not spit out so easily, the main thing is to see the clubs as acorns, diamonds as bells.

Earlier in the book the ettila meanings are shared with 2 being there and not the six.

So that could be why the focus is on the suits themselves.

On page 63 before talking about the German cartomany suit, she talks about readers get confused between the French and German suits on the same page.

And how it can be eased by studying the German inserts.

In looking at the books close together , the main thing looking at Odette book with the energy of the suit of clubs and you study Andy suit , it will match.

Where a book like rana, or Alex mushrick will be differnt as their clubs card meaning wouldn't match.

As both rana, in her book and Odette here says to pick a style, a school of thought and stick to it.

thats one reason I tithered between French and German schools because let's face it , that's 18 cards that be differnt.

At the time, Caitlin Matthew's book and Andy were working for me.

So I figure this should match.

@HOLMES

Thanks for the recommendation. I ended up buying the kindle version and I'm reading it while on vacation. She includes many details in this book which I've not seen in other books vis a vis cards above vs. below, facing directions, more complex combinations, etc.

I think I will be taking notes on it for some months to absorb it all!
