A unique version of Reading Circle for those who would like to work through their collection of decks, participants choose decks from their collections to work with for the week. Some use one deck, others use two or more. Some combine methods: Tarot, non-tarot (e.g. oracle), playing cards, or any other divinatory method is welcome. All we ask is that you use at least one tarot or oracle deck.

No collection is too large or too small. The only rules we have are the Tarot, Tea & Me Rules; Be respectful of one other. Please join us!

  • Please post with your choice of deck(s) for the week
  • Chat away about your deck, how you're finding it (or not), etc., it's all up to you
  • Participants may either choose to share their readings here in this discussion thread or opt to have their own journal in the Journals Forum and link it here
  • Yet others may even have an offline journal in paper & pencil/pen form

Late this week!

I'm working with the Hermetic. Hopefully those who celebrate had a good holiday weekend (and hence the reason this thread slipped my mind...)

Posted

Thank you Fire cat! I'm in with the Animal Totem Tarot paired with the Blum/Gern Rune Cards.

Life is never fair, and perhaps it is a good thing for most of us that it is not.
―Oscar Wilde

The crane exhibits a posture known as an arch display: wings held high and back arched, beak pointed toward the sky, and the red patch expanded and displayed prominently. He felt his territory was threatened and reacted. It would be nice if Justice truly meant that everything was perfectly balanced, 'fair and square.' But there are too many perspectives and sides with numerous players in every situation for such exactness. Yet we all seem to feel entitled to demand what we think our 'share' should be. The rune Perth/Perthro suggests outcomes that we can't foresee. However, if we are patient and attentive, what has been hidden will come to light. Perhaps if we sincerely listen to other viewpoints and attempt to stand where they do, we might see that our portion doesn't need to be nearly as big as we thought.

Welcome back @Natural Mystic Guide 🙂

Interested to see where you'll be headed next. There really is no telling with me. My inspirations seem to come out of left field sometimes.

Hi, crew!  @Bodhiseed, I have that rune deck!  I need to bring it out again.  I really like the natural items collage style.

For me, this week will be Botanica Oculta Tarot, a drive-by enabling by @Mi-Shell.  I saw her deck of the week posts and had to have it right away!

Monday1.thumb.jpg.d6e55d50700f617819052d2bde745582.jpg

It assigns a flower to each card and has the appropriate number of suit items included in the illustrations.  The knights have helmets.  There are two extra cards, Destiny, the Mallow, and The Paladin, The Papillionanthe Miss Joaquin (Looks like an iris to me.  Oh, the booklet says it’s an orchid variation and national flower of Singapore.  Who knew?)  (I’ll be leaving out a lot of “the”s in the future!)  As you see, each card has a nice flower illustration, and the card title and flower name in a somewhat elaborate frame.  I’m usually not a fan of an “antiqued” spotty beige background, but I guess it works in this deck?  We’ll see about that.

Well then, on to the interview!

Monday2.thumb.jpg.119dbc05308005fe51292ba4b97378cb.jpg

One major, two kings, three pentacles.

What is your most important characteristic?  X Swords, coronilla minima

A flower I don’t know.  The swords are chopping it up.

Too much information or not enough.  Enough of the flowers are unknown to make it difficult to use and understand.

What is your strength?  Temperance, protea

Another unknown.  Although it looks pretty unique, I should probably look it up.  Later.

It is a unique blending of tarot and flowers.

Your weakness?  King of Wands, daffodil and willow

Not sure why these are paired?  But at least I know what they are!

The deck is not confident or certain about where it’s leading because it didn’t pick just one for this card.

What can you teach me?  V Pentacles, black cumin

So is this the spice?

The deck can teach me about finances and how to budget and what to do if that doesn’t work.

How can I learn it?  King of Pentacles, blue morning glory

I hate vines of all kinds.

The only way to learn about my finances is to take charge of my finances.

What will be the outcome of our work together?  Ace of Pentacles, hibiscus scottii

Not sure if hibiscus is a vine too?  The bud is closed because this is just the beginning of the suit.

Even though I will work with the deck, I’ll still be just beginning to learn about the flowers.

Well, not very positive, but we’ll see!  And now I already have two days to catch up on!

@fire cat pickles Thank you for the thread💐

Wow! I'm right on time! Count me in with the Many Queens Tarot!

My youngest son brought it back to me from a shop in Taos, New Mexico. He has given me many absolutely amazing tarot decks over the years, and this one is the pinnacle! I had no idea it existed, but if I had, I would've moved heaven and earth to have it. 👑

My next intensive study will be:  The Ark Animal Tarot & Oracle Deck by Bernadette King.  I shall be focusing on the Tarot cards in this Tarot/Oracle card combo.  My inspirations to select a deckXVI.jpeg.ca26f9d899012159c35b886506a6820f.jpeg for intense study strictly have to do with my new deck acquisitions and in what chronological order they have joined my collection.  Please go ahead and sign me up for this new deck for the remainder of this week.

Here is XVI 'The Tower'.  Lovely, isn't it?

I have completed my careful study of the Dark Goddess Tarot by Ellen Lorenzi-Prince.  Please do check out my New Deck Interview on my blog.  This interview was a very refreshing experience.  I feelXIII.jpeg.67e97495fa0a1194223ced1a6e29168d.jpeg as if I have made a wonderful new friend with whom I can anticipate having many pleasurable and stimulating experiences in the future.  She, the deck, speaks with a clear voice.  Through her, these living archetypes who inhabit the Spiritual World have a supportive framework to lend assistance to we mortals below.  This is a practical and easy to use deck.  It is unpredictable and surprising in exciting ways.  I hope that you can vicariously share my experience and perhaps be inspired to add her to your collection.  She holds ancient wisdom that can greatly benefit us all.

I have begun my study of The Ark, an animal Tarot and oracle deck by Bernadette King.  It's actually quite involved.  Each card features various symbols that relate to the cultural origin of the animal, toII.jpeg.cf65d3da829b1d0844a9dfc053b48004.jpeg astrology, to cartomancy -- there's a lot to it.

So take for example this 'Spider' who represents Major Arcana card II.  The top symbol:  "Star Tetrahedron -- a stylized version of this symbol represents the FIre Element, with two triangles creating sharp angles signifying the piercing, sharp nature of Fire."  Interesting -- I usually associate the 'High Priestess' with the water element.  How about you?

The three bottom symbols in this case pertain to the 'Influence' of the various cultures that work with this animal.  In this case, we have:  Shamanic, Asian, and Celtic.

Justice

Since we are both doing an animal deck, I thought that it would be fun to compare.  Here is the XI Justice card from the Ark deck.  Eleven is a Master Number representing our gut feelings...  At thisXI.jpeg.38baf0b8efe1b50714148b2ac96ffd48.jpeg point in time, either we are acting with benevolent intent or the opposite.  Drawing this card gives us the opportunity to turn away from unfair and shady dealings.  With her big ears, Elephant hears about wrong doing or the breaking of truth.  The universe requires accountability.  We are encouraged to build equitable relationships.  The world is imperfect; we are imperfect.  We are cautioned to trust our instincts and be sensitive to the warning that we might be doing something off.

This happened because I was responding to a quote from Bodhiseed -- maybe their quote was on last week's thread too?
