Does anyone know the phenomenon behind Tarot?

I definitely have spirits manifesting applicable things as I do spreads, but, is that what Tarot is? Just your spirituality communicating with you? Or, is there a greater phenomenon behind the results of the cards?

There are any number of threads here about that. Have a few:

Or search out some more if these don't do it for you.

Cool, thank you. I’ll check them out.

I've moved this thread to a tarot discussion area as it's more taroty in theme 😀

Well, we all occupy the same real of existence and operate within similar frequencies, so it can create quite interesting web of things.

One possibility is there's an end point / destination. That could be the question that is posed or a message that spirit wants to get across. So it's like colouring in a drawing, or getting images intuitively (which is what the cards assist with because you build on those images by getting other images associated with them).

Perhaps each card is like a street that the reader can go down, whether they use the street map (rote card meanings and those we've assigned) or instinct - a sort of direction N/S/E/W we are going in because we have a feeling that's the way to get to the message or destination that is the end point destination (we may not know what that is, but there's something guiding us in the cards). We go left here, right there, and there are features along the way (a building, bridge, park - some sort of place marker that gives us an idea of whether we're going in the right direction - or just a prompt of sorts). If we take a wrong turn somewhere that can impact the reading - a little feedback can be important - asking a question to the sitter that tells us we are going in the right direction or the right direction. An endless realm of possibilities and frequencies to follow, but

The frameworks in which we live are the same, as are the human emotions and so on - and these are timeless, as are the cards.

I don't think there's a one size fits all. Quite possibly there's a multiplicity of phernomena behind tarot.

You mention spirits. Perhaps some readers are in communication with spirits and these beings communicate via tarot. This would make sense for people with mediumistic or possibly telekenesis type of skills.

For me, Tarot itself has an Intelligence or egregore. The Intelligence speaks to me in numbers, patterns, and probabilities. Many readers wouldn't see it that way. I do. I also use astrology. This is another way Tarot can speak in ways I understand. LOL I'm not very woo. It's mostly numbers, planets, and pattern recognition for me.

When reading other people, there's the empathic / intuitive / subtle connection with the client. This is its own phenomenon which to me, is separate from Tarot. I connect with the person to fully understand their need. Then I ask Tarot's Intelligence for the answer and translate that back to the person. It's 2-step and 2 different skills [for me].

Ask 1001 readers this question and you may get 1001 answers.
