chelseyblair Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 One thing I like about the CC is that the positions can be summarized in one or two words. I like the Counting Crows spread because i know the one for sorrow... rhyme. Any other spreads like that?
DanielJUK Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 There are about a thousand variants of the 3 card spread with a keyword for each, great for a quick reading and easy to remember! Past / Present / Future Mind / Body / Spirit There are some 3 card spread ideas from our members in the past -
chelseyblair Posted December 7, 2024 Author Posted December 7, 2024 Sure, three card spreads are all like that. I was thinking larger spreads/based off longer rhymes or poems. The keywords and shape make a ten card soread easy to remember, then you can take it deeper.
GreyBug Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 I don't know any spreads like that but I imagine it would be easy to make them up - depending on what you already find easy to remember. What about a 12 card spread based on the months - January can be for starting things, February for relationships etc. People definitely read astrology based spreads, one card for each house. Or a 10 card spread based on whatever tarot numerology you use. Maybe your favorite song or book can be broken down into key scenes which each serve as a spread position?
bianc Posted December 7, 2024 Posted December 7, 2024 there's this little adaptation of a cross spread I made based off of a book, -current situation (outer world) -current internal situation (you, your feelings, and how you're perceiving yourself atm) -others around me (how are you being seen externally) -advice I like to pull cards of clarification whenever i feel the need to, ask questions related to them, discuss some of it, yk, just flow with the reading. but one card for each can pretty much be just enough
doubletaurus Posted January 22 Posted January 22 I don't know why, but I really like a five-card spread. I don't assign meanings to the positions of the cards; I take the whole spread as one message. For example, using the Rider-Waite-Smith deck-- 10 of Cups 6 of Swords 4 of Wands VI, The Lovers 3 of Swords My interpretation: Things are going well for now, but be prepared for heart break.
Simooo_designs Posted January 22 Posted January 22 I'm really into astrology so I usually use a 12 card astrological spread since I'm a beginner.
gregory Posted January 22 Posted January 22 (edited) I make up a spread when I get the question. So I don't need to recall anything. Edited January 29 by gregory spelng misstake
Sanchez Posted January 27 Posted January 27 I call it the Cardslinger Spread! I made it up via years of practice. I like things simple. Cardslinger Spread 3 cards for a general reading of the situation (read both individually and together) 1 card for the "vibe" of the situation -- how it Feels, the general energy of the situation, the experience I'm having. Basically, what's the theme or title of the situation? 1 card for advice It's silly simple, but I use it all the time and it has worked great for me.
Nemia Posted January 28 Posted January 28 I like four-card spreads, and an easy one to remember is the SWOT analysis spread. It gives a lot of information, and it's usually quite action-orientated, i.e., you'll know what to do once you've understood the message.
gregory Posted January 29 Posted January 29 Oh - I do use SWOT - and also "yes if/no unless/maybe if."

In a practice group I had last night we did this one, but the advice card was missing. I want to remember that for next time because I think it closes up the reading nicely.

At the end of the day, information is all well and good; the "spirit / vibe" card helps me feel seen and empathize with myself better, but the advice card is the one I end up actually Using the most... I want to know what to DO about whatever the situation is! I'm flattered that the Cardslinger spread was used! I feel popular!

It feels validating, but without direction. 20 minutes ago, cardslinger said: I'm flattered that the Cardslinger spread was used! I feel popular! ❤️❤️❤️ It was like you participating with us. 😊
