Will keep this in mind...thanks!

I'm looking forward to the Pathfinder Oracle by skullgarden, the Kickstarter for which goes live tomorrow. I don't know how the meanings in the book go (which I assume you could chuck aside anyway) but it has cards like Fox, Cicada, Door, what looks to be Desert (hard to make out from the preview pictures), and one with a double-headed bison. Each card can be read Positive, Negative, Active, or Passive, depending which way it comes up in a reading.

I realise the full preview isn't out yet, but it's looking pretty different so far!

Another one I need to dedicate some time to although I am curious about the Daemon Tarot so will check that out now...

Thanks!

Ok, some of my favorite oracle decks that don't have the same ole same ole:

Angelarium - No Doreen Virtue with this deck - There are Enochian angels

https://www.angelarium.net/

Botanical Inspirations - keywords are not that uncommon but it is the quotes that go with the cards that is the inspiration.  It's a lovely deck.

http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/botanical-inspirations/

Celtic Tree Oracle a deck based on Celtic Runes - no sentiments on the cards

http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/celtic-tree-oracle/

Crystal Wisdom Healing Oracle -this has no meanings either, it's based on the properties of the crystals

http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/crystal-wisdom-healing-oracle/

Daemon Tarot is a deck of demons that all come with cautions and warnings.  It's actually a fascinating deck.

http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/daemon/

Faerie Enchantments Oracle - this deck is about fairies but there is no sweetness about this deck.  The meanings are on the backs of each card and they really hit home.

http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/faerie-enchantments-oracle/

Greek Mythology Reading Cards - I actually love this deck and use it for male clients.

https://www.amazon.com/Greek-Mythology-Reading-Alison-Chester-Lambert/dp/184409748X

Oracle of Mystical Moments - not your usual oracle deck.  This does not have one word meanings but thoughts.  I love this deck.

https://www.amazon.com/Oracle-Mystical-Moments-Catrin-Well-Stein/dp/1572819200

Oracle of Rama - this is a really interesting deck,  you use a couple of cards that hold keys for you to find on the cards and use the special meanings that go with the Hindu gods.

https://www.amazon.com/Oracle-Rama-Dr-David-Frawley/dp/1932771298

Supra Oracle - this is a deck based on Jungian psychology.  Still new to me but I'm breaking it in.

https://uusi.us/collections/viewall/products/supra-oracle?variant=41973557064

Tao Oracle - a must have!!!

http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/tao-oracle/

Whispers of Lord Ganesha - This deck does have one word meanings but they are not like most oracle decks.  It is the images and Ganesha himself that really brings this deck home.  It's a very different energy than most oracle decks.  It is the only deck I will use to read myself.

https://blueangelonline.com/whispers_of_lord_ganesha.html

Wild Kuan Yin - This deck does not have same old same old meanings like other oracles.  It has very different meanings but another thing this deck offers is stunning visuals.  The book is a little on the new agey side but it gives  you details and backgrounds of the images to it's important.

http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/wild-kuan-yin-oracle/

I hope this gives you more of a sense of what is out there for oracles.  I have all my oracle decks linked on my portfolio page if you want to use it to conveniently see all of my oracle decks.

Maybe two great minds think alike!

Journey of Love Oracle?

I will take a look, but no promises as the L word is in it.

Relieved I have not broken out in a rash.

DND

I was about to recommend the Angelarium, but was ninja-ed by Saturn Celeste. Unusual to the point of being a tad unsettling, perhaps? I bought it for the gorgeous artwork, but I must say that I've used it for fiction-writing rather than for meditation.

Have you looked at the Journey of Love Oracle? The title certainly looks like the thing you seem to have had enough of  ;) but I find the semi-abstract artwork quite inspiring and the keywords deeply interesting. I think I got that deck mainly because there is a card called "the space between the words", which spoke to me on so many levels (and certainly not only the things left unsaid in relationships, but also the beauty that cannot be told, the silences that give shape to music itself, etc). I do like Alana Fairchild's writing, generally speaking.

I was thinking I had the A'HA but it is another I have that is French I think. Will make sure later as I have some deck with a very small title.

I will consider the DragonFae and Les Vampires. For sure.

Through looking at some catalog that was on here in another thread I have now just ordered a few tarot decks that I was not even considering remotely, but I do want some Oracles as well.

Thanks for your suggestions - deeply appreciated!

DND

There are some original oracles but they tend to not be available in mass market places because they tend to be mass market generic "themed" oracles. I have started to be really repelled by them DNDer! There are some wonderful oracles from small publishers and self published but you have to find them.

I do like the Psycards as you know and it's really different to anything else. I also would recommend Les Vampires, like Starlight[/member] suggested. I have to say it's not my style or normal artwork theme to buy at all and they have very large eyes almost like Japanese anime. But I bought it on a whim some years ago and love it more than I thought I would and it's something different!

My recommendation is the a'ha oracle by linnie[/member] who used to be on AT. She dreamt of all the cards and they are from her intuition. They are fascinating, each is a mandala and some are in colour and some are in black and white and it really works out well. Each card just has a number at the bottom and you can read it intuitively or read a lot of text about it in the accompanying book. It's my fave oracle for spiritual matters and it's an original oracle, it's for insight in anything! You can get it from her own page here and this is the AT review of it here. That is my recommendation and she is in Oz, so will be cheaper than for me getting it across the world to here

Looking at this and Daemon Oracle now.  Might as well as have enough TABS up to do it. Wow!

Thanks for your suggestion - cool!

The James Wanless Sustain Yourself cards are quite unusual, nature based and there are 101 of them in the deck.

I just ordered the Divine Circus Oracle (from Amazon because shipping from the creator website was $50 for some reason!) solely because I loved the unique themes and cards!

That's a pretty deck!  I use it with my LeGrande Sideshow tarot deck.  They work nicely together!

bookshop...Saturn Celeste

I was looking at this one too early hours of this morning stemming from some of the mentioned ones on here when I was looking them all up, but it was the one card pulls and messages on YouTube that changed my mind about getting it.

Never know...

Took a look and great artwork, but I would like to understand it more and how it is supposed to be read. That would make it more of an informed view I suppose.

So, I will see if more comes up on it like on YouTube or reviews.

Thanks! Cool. Love the idea.

HI DND

Tea leaf rae Hepburn I'm happy to do a reading for you to see if you like it or not as i own it.

Les vampires is a must as is any lucy Cavendish.

Have you seen the rebel deck? It's got a little in appropiate launauge in but it's hilarious from what I've seen.

And the oracle of the e is a good one for original, it often tells me off on a daily basis!! :(

Hope it helps.

I wanted to see how it was read - in part reviews.

One woman did one card pull for the day or week and I got to see it being read twice by her, and the meanings she read were from the book with the cards, and that was was made me think twice.

It is up to you really, but as I do not want decks that are the same as any other ones I have if it can be helped I need to be paying closer attention.

See I'm brand-new to oracle decks, this one will be my first (depending on how you view the daemon tarot, which i guess i've just been viewing as trading cards ahahaha), so i don't think i have any card meanings to double-up on yet!

The Keijuoraakeli, a beautiful fairy oracle by Finnish author Linda Peltola. (Keijuoraakeli literally means Fairy Oracle.) Card names and booklet are in Finnish, but the person I got it from at the old Aeclectic Forum was kind enough to include an English printout with the basics. I love having so little info, because it makes readings so much more interesting.

So....

After buying a number of Tarot decks that I had no plans to buy...

I just bought two of Lucy Cavendish's decks:

Les Vampyres and Fairy Forest.

Crossing fingers that I made the right choices.

Lucy Cavendish - 05/04/2019 (April).

She is such a lovely vibrant lady - we had such a great chat.

Apparently, she visited a place in London called "Mysteries" and it was this Tarot shop that kind of triggered her journey into creating the Oracles she has to date.

My favorite oracle deck is Angelarium: Oracle of the Emanations for exactly this reason.

The Angelarium project is one where the artist attempts to capture the divinity and other-ness of angels using mythos from all sorts of backgrounds. The three cards in my attached pic are Chesed, who represents empathy, Shaqueil, angel of the sky, who’s common association is to that of shields, and Kushiel, the angel of punishment.

From this quick reading, I can see that I’m meant to use my empathy to protect myself and others from undeserved cruelty, punishment, or maliciousness. Not exactly a reading I’d get from a “standard” oracle!

I never saw myself with an angel deck of any sorts before, having had much conflict with the common religions that associate with angels, but this oracle has been kind and patient with me.

Something to keep in mind, however, is that the angels don’t exist in a void within this oracle. For example, Chesed, in the picture, is the right hand. A deeper understanding of what this card means comes when you understand that the left hand is Gevurah, who represents judgement, and what Gevurah’s relationship is to Chesed (one of equal and opposite importance: both needed to form healthy relationships but too much of either throws a person off balance). One of my problems with a lot of oracle (and even some tarot!) is that the relationship between the cards themselves is unclear. Personally, if my cards can’t “talk” to each-other, I have a hard time understanding them myself!

I hope you have luck finding an oracle deck that suits your needs!

I don't know if the aesthetics of these decks will appeal to you, but they are not quite your standard oracle decks and worth a look:

The Inner Compass Cards: https://innercompasscards.com/ More images are available on Instagram, if you want to have a browse.

The Magic Neko Deck: https://www.etsy.com/listing/610015776/the-magic-neko-deck-playing-card-and Images of all cards are available here. You can use the brief guide, your knowledge of correspondences between playing cards, tarot and the tree of life or your intuition when reading them.

The Sacred Creators Oracle: https://chris-anne.com/product/sacred-creator-oracle-deck-order/ A flip through can be found here:

Somenone else mentioned the Pathfinder Oracle Deck, which will be available soonish. I think the Kickstarter page may have the most info so far:

Happy deck hunting!
