Week 5! Nearly a quarter of the way through the process and I feel like I still need to tweak things to make the best of the suggested daily focus.

My reading for this week:

The Holy See - Wheel of Life - Ivory Shield

The spread starts with the card which is also the study focus for this week. This could be one reason why its presence looms large.

There is an interesting layer to these cards which I’m going to spend the week unpicking. The Holy See represents tradition, inherited ideas, cultural and social norms. Where do my beliefs come from? Are they still useful or have they become a habitual fallback - part of my background ‘noise’ which never gets examined closely? Whose authority am I following and what makes me think they are right? It’s time to look more deeply at the forces which shape me.

This links in with the Wheel of Life - it’s about to turn again but will history repeat itself or am I able to change things this time? Whatever is coming, it’s linked to the first card and there may be wider societal norms at play which keep me making the same choice.

Ivory Shield offers protection from some form of illness - likely one made worse by turbulent emotions. She is a guide in the darkness. Her shield echoes the Wheel and this again makes me think there is a deeper layer to what is coming. I’ve been here before...what can be done differently this time? Interestingly, this Shield is associated with Viking/Celtic cultures and this is my own ancestry. The ‘tradition’ I follow spiritually is Druidry so there may be something to examine there too.

The hexagram is Steadfast - slow and steady and staying true to myself is the message coming through.

Gosh, the Shield absolutely looks like the Wheel of Life! That's a great synchronicity. It looks like your past experiences are the very things that will protect you in the upcoming week: you can draw on similar times from the past and react based on what worked/didn't work for you.

Weekly Forecast:

9 of Scepters: The Malaise - the spirit of Great Strength stands with me this week. I'm glad, because I need it! My girl from last week's Demiurge has realised what this is going to cost her...and is standing firm regardless. Why? Because she knows it's going to be worth it. As Benebell says, 'Discomfort will unleash your full potency.' I may only be into this Monday by a couple of hours, but I already know this is where I'm at.

7 of Orbs: The Gardner - Seed planted. Now's the transition period, that time of waiting, between planting and harvest. As I said in my reflection on last week's forecast, harvest for my current situation will be October. This week is when I carry on as I have been, patiently pruning my ideas and plans and plots so that they'll grow strong and healthy. I won't feel any of it this week. I just have to remember that everything I do this week will bear fruit later this year.

Ace of Sceptres: Sacred Fire - I'm being practical. I'm being patient. I'm being methodical. I'm working out the pieces and making sure I've covered my bases as much as possible. Which is all fine and good, but I keep forgetting to be excited, or enthusiastic. Remember, this plan didn't come out of nowhere: I made it because I wanted to do it. It's important not just to focus on the material elements of it but to go back to the reason why I came up with it in the first place. Let myself get a little bit excited, directing my energy not into fear and anxiety (and fighting them) but actual anticipation too.

Hexagram: Fire/Fire - Attachment. Funny thing. As I was flipping through the pages to find the I Ching stuff,  I asked myself (out loud), 'Okay, but this is an exciting thing I want to do. Why am I so tired?' Turn to the hexagram interpretation. First sentence: 'You are clinging on emotionally.'

😂

Yeah, no kidding. There's a lot of self-reassurance going on, and it's tiring, because those little anxieties and worries are noise. I did like this sentence from the I Ching though: 'Nurturing and caring for that fertile cow will bring prosperity'. It chimes perfectly with the message of The Gardener.

Love this! 😂

It sounds like you have a really good plan in place. That must help your sense of purpose.

You've gotta love it when the guidance you turn to is that clear and that blunt 🤣

Thank you for that! I have a plan, but lots of the pieces are still in the air. I'm purposely destabilizing myself at the moment in every possible way, and part of that is having to wait and see what happens. It's soooo difficult: I'm the kind of person who likes to have every piece decided and glued into position before I do anything!

That's where The Malaise fits so well: all I'm feeling is a grim determination to get through this incredibly difficult (and somewhat messy*) bit so I can get to the reason why I'm putting myself through this in the first place!  I should probably remember all that stuff about the journey mattering more than the destination, though 🤣

*Literally, since I'm sorting through my flat and identifying which bits can be put into storage, and which bits can't).

My prosperity ritual today was to create a money bowl. I like the simplicity of it and the fact that it encourages a flow of prosperity and regular interaction.

I filled a green bowl with:

shiny coins, pyrite, fresh mint leaves, cloves, green crystals and a gold Ganesh statue.

Next week, I will swap a few items out and replace them with something new.

Posted

That sounds interesting! How did you decide what to put into the bowl?

I did a walking meditation/visualisation and I'm going to keep at it on a daily basis every time I go for a walk.

Posted

I used items which are linked with money magic/prosperity. All were already in my house or garden.

Walking meditation sounds like a great idea!

The spirit of Established Strength will be most present.

Highest interest to make this week's priority: Walls that blocked me before seem to come down and I am about to gain "access". Exciting.

Mindful of/prepare for:  Deal with oppression I have brought onto myself. Yes, this will be an exciting week! Dear reader, you just have to keep up!

Yesterday something suddenly came up that made me buy a plane ticket and I'm traveling abroad tomorrow.

Amazingly enough, this fits very well with the cards in the Weekly Forecast Spread.

I'll be gone for a week. And the trip is difficult to combine with SKT, so, unfortunately, I have to take a break from SKT for a week.

On Monday, I forgot to check the I Ching Oracle message. Since the cards are so good I checked the message now, and there were words for reflection there:

Thunder (Ten of Scepters) over Fire (Three of Scepters) = 55. Abundance to Opulence | Height of Advancement:

Honors bestowed. There is progressive movement and there is clarity in the mind. You are in a position of great influence. You rise like the sun at the highest point in the sky. Be mindful when abundance becomes opulence. When abundance becomes opulence, the king will fall. Every Age of Enlightenment comes to a decline. A period of tremendous power is upon you, but bear in mind that this, too, shall pass. Embrace the tides of change, come what may.

The fives. What a set of cards for Christmas week!  Week 5 cards to consider:

My draw for the week isn't all sunshine either. That's a lot of Mars, fire, and lightening.

That Knight is a saving grace. And having been anxious lately I'm not surprised to see the 9. The Tower can be alright (though a pain in the a__) if it's a transition that ends up being for the best in the long run. And of course for dailies and weeklies, the cards are often a lot less dramatic than they appear. I'll be back toward the end of the week...
