And do remember the deadline: if your work is not done by the end of April, no matter the circumstances, it will be re-assigned to someone else. We want to finalize this deck by the end of May and have it available before the summer. So do not leave it to the last minute!! Now, here is a list of the card titles. As you can tell, there are some small adjustments made, most notably to the court cards - Pages are now Novices, Knights are Explorers, Queens are Nurturers, and Kings are Elders. This was done in order to make them gender neutral. Some of the Majors have also received new or slightly altered titles, like the High Priestess who has become the Seer and the Hierophant who has become the Sage. The Hanged man is now the Hanged One and the World is the Universe. The suits are simply named after the four elements. I think @stephanelli summed it up really well when she explained her thoughts on the difference between some of these new titles: "To me, an Elder (in our deck that is the King) is like the head-person in charge of tribe. The one who makes the decisions, leads the tribe in all physical/material/worldly things. The Sage (in our deck, the Hierophant) is kind of like the tribe's spiritual leader. The one who connects the tribe to their religion. The Seer (the High Priestess) is the one who can read the signs and symbols and cast the runes or lay the cards and use intuition to give advice." This is of course only one way of seeing it so please feel free to interpret those titles in the way that resonates with you! Also, only sign up for one card - once that card is complete you may sign up for another one. But we will only allow one Major Arcana card per person! Titles 0. The Fool - Wanderer COMPLETE 1. The Hermit is ma favorite card, but I'm too affraid to do it. Can I sign up for The Magician? I'll start working on it this weekend. It will be a painting, with acrylic paint!
