Tarot of the Divine
The theme of this deck is fairy tales and folk lore from around the world. The people / animals / creatures depicted in the deck are characters from particular stories. Typically the entire story isn't meant to be reflective of the meaning of the card, but just that element within the story that is depicted. Many of the images bear no resemblance to RWS imagery (besides all minor cards including the suit objects) but occasionally they are clearly referential.
78 Cards. The artist is Yoshi Yoshitani. The cards are a textured linen finish. There is a small booklet accompanying the deck with brief explanations for each card and full color illustrations for each card. Suits are Wands, Coins, Cups, Swords. All names for cards are written out in text at the bottom, the major cards have small numbers at the top.
The artist also published a book - Behind the Moon - with a basic retelling of each of the stories with full color illustrations of each card. The book does not refer back to the deck / cards.
