Hi all, I'm new. I found this forum looking for an alternative to a forum where I used to study.

I learned from learntarot.com at first, with a random crappy Lo Scarabeo deck from a mall. I made my first informed choice of deck, Clive Barret's Ancient Egyptian, from Aeclectic Tarot reviews & studied with the posters there. This is what I typically use to read for others. I like my Ancient Egyptian for combining and playing with both RWS and Thoth traditions. I'm not much fond of RWS itself but I can appreciate its influences in other decks and its clones too; I just don't think the og RWS inspires me.

I have also enjoyed Hermetic Tarot and Robin Wood which I gave to a friend (but I wouldn't mind acquiring it again sometime). Ultimately I got into Thoth. My best unexpectedly good deck is the Game of Thrones Tarot. I have also enjoyed using cards virtually with Orphalese where my favorite deck to use is Neon Moon.

This is a pretty consumerist entry. I have a personal relationship with the cards but I'm not great at writing it. I'm not much a neo-pagan at my roots. But thru my study of Tarot and it's connected materials, numerology, astrology, etc, I have appreciated and appropriated some neo-pagan practices. These communities have welcomed me (mostly 😉 ) I would usually describe myself as an atheist but at my most mystical I might try to describe as a kind of psychedelic Jungian techno-animist.

The Wheel of the Jewish Calendar makes a major shift as we leave the months of Adar I & II and entered the month of Na’arah represented by Major Arcana card XVII Na’arah ‘Hope’ on April 9, 2024.  The third decan of Aries also began on April 11.

The bottom row, representing the Jewish calendar according to the Tarot Netivot system now features Major Arcana card XVII for the beginning of the new month; and the 7 of Wands ‘Namaste’ for the beginning of the week of Waxing Moon April 13.

There is one overlap of correspondences between the two systems for this period:  the Eagle.

The top line features Tarot cards as they relate to today’s Western Hermetic Astrology using primarily the Tabula Mundi Tarot Silver Edition by M.M.Melleen.  This works with the Solar Calendar.  These are the correspondences that Benebell Wen uses when working with the SKT and astrology.

The bottom line features Tarot cards as they relate to the Hebrew calendar according to Tarot Netivot.  I am using the Lurianic Tarot by Basilikon — one of the few truly Jewish Tarot decks out there and certainly one of the most beautiful; and the hand painted Illuminated Tarot Starlight Rainbows edition.  This works with the Lunar Calendar.

The middle cards are animal, crystal, and plant correspondences according to T. Susan Chang in the book Tarot Correspondences.  These are tied to the Major Arcana cards as they appear in Tarot Netivot representing each Jewish month,  Jewish holidays, and major lunar and solar events as well as to the Western Hermetic Major Arcana in the top rows.  These are taken from various decks in my collection.  New additions:  otter; peacock; ram; hawk; amethyst; garnet; diamond; oak; thorn; bloodroot; olive; fir; and fruit trees.  It is interesting to note that two of these correspondences do occur together on the same card.  This is the Eight of Pentacles for the Tellurian Tarot deck.

Existing cards will be exchanged with new incoming cards as the wheel of time turns.  Lunar phases change every 3 - 4 days; decans change every 10 days.  Months change every 28 - 31 days.  Note:  I am working with 2 different systems to mark the months, one solar and the other lunar.  I shall try to post a new board every time there is significant movement.

    2. Hello there, it's Van here!

I hope all of you are fine.

Today, guess in this dawn, i'm gonna talk about some methods of how to spreeds cards i'm learning.

Well, finally i can start to do proper readings [internally freaking out a little bit 🤯].  Honestly, since i finished my journey with the Major Arcanas i'm panicking over make real "grown-up" readings, i mean study the cards was so fun and kind of "safe" and my mentor said somenthing that keeps appering in my mind: "You have to be responsible now, it the real deal. Practice and be ready". Be ready for what? I get the part where you can't fluffed up in this part but c'mon this was definitely not an encouragement at all, right?

Anyways here am i, lol. Almost 3:00 AM and i'm here reading books after books and watching videos and thinking if i'll ever going to keep up with this, i'm thiking of creating my own personal datasheet over my future readings, so i can keep them on track and see my development, am i thking too much? Or this is a good idea?

There's not much to tell on the methods itself, i'm currently studying the easiest ways to start the spreed, i already have studied the quick insight, the celtic cross and some others [any advice or tips would be good 😉], tomorrow morning i'm thinking of doing the first real deal grown-up reading and finally let my newbie title to be gone [yes, i'm that excited, yet terrified 😆] but i'm not really sure, what y'all think? How was your first time?

Of course, i'm not ready to read for another person, look i'm not doing it until i get confident enough so i don't mess up or make huge mistakes, when it comes to read for someone else i prefer to fluff up my future and myself first [mentor says that if i'm not responsible enouh it's not a good idea to make the readings].

So till this time come, it's going to be me and all of you guys [hell yeah all of you are coming in this with me 😅] and in this moment i want some serious and point by point critics which i'm counting on y'all to give.

Jokes aside i really waited so long for this to happen, i don't know about you guys, but i was feeling like a child learning all of this. Specially when i didn't get a certain card and stayed with it in my head for really long periods of time [ one month was my max], i felt kind of... dumb? Idk. But right now, after learning properly and making a huuuge upfront step on my study schedule perhaps things will be easier.

Tomorrow i promise to post a follow up from my soon to be first real grown up reading and if you're interested i can post my datasheet so you can analyze it.

Update on my cute box: Decided to glue some dried flowers from my garden on the lid, there's little almost nothing but i promise to keep  a follow up once it's fully complete!

      Com amor,

      Van
