The realm of "what are they thinking?"

Featured Replies

I watched a recent auction site listing for the Tarot of Delphi. Having recently been the recipient of the Majestic Earth

I thought it would be nice to have this deck by the same person.

but this listing... went for $248.00 US. And it is missing the Justice card. It says that clearly in the title and in the listing info.

I'd like to know why. If the buyer has this kind of money it is fairly easy to source the deck.

If the buyer is a reader, speaking for myself a deck missing a card is worth 0.00 in any currency.

Your thoughts?

this is the listing, although the link will eventually lead nowhere. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rare-Out-of-Print-Tarot-of-Delphi-Cards-Decks-MISSING-Card-XI-Justice-/143689248064?_trksid=p2047675.l2557&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&nma=true&si=ZE6CCdkrdK3tjDSOaW7AyDm0WCM%3D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc

Do you have any what are they thinking stories?

I absolutely agree EXCEPT (there's always an exception!) if something is truly old and it is important to save any part of a deck as an example of what was. In tarot I would say over 100 years old.

I checked and it is a Self Published 2014 deck, so not over 100 years old!

The seller information looks like honest, the description seems too, but there is a problem with the price. No Justice card, so the price is unfair here.

I even don't know how much someone can ask for an incomplete deck, even in pristine condition!?

they didn't Ask for that price, it was bid up to that price, the starting bid was $19.99. So someone willing paid it.

My uninformed guess is they lept on it with excitement without reading it was missing a card.

I once bought the greenwood book, not once but two times, thinking it was the deck, just So excited to see it a reasonable price 😉 My bad.
