Helena Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 Hi all! So, first, I must say I'm not 100% sure if this is the right place to post this, but it is oracle related, so I figured yeah. If not, please let me know. This weekend, I purchased my first angel deck. I got the Angelarium: Oracle of Emanations deck. It's absolutely beautiful and haunting, but also a little terrifying, which, in my experience, is a pretty accurate representation of angels and "God" in general. I'm new to working with angels in this way. Still learning about them, what they're jobs/functions/meanings are. So, I've read the booklet and spent some time getting to know the cards. Going through them one by one, I came across Kushiel - Angel of Punishment. He's a scary guy. When I was reviewing him, I said, sheesh, I hope I never pull him. Cue: pulled him 2 times in 2 days lol. This is a smaller deck, only 33 cards, so I was only pulling 2 at most to ask for advice from angels about how to handle things with my estranged husband. Things are going much better between us, and I've been very hopeful recently...cautiously. Both times, he came out with Leliel - Angel of Night, which, in reading the description and my feelings about her, she elicits feelings of the Star card, which brings feelings of finding hope in the darkness, peaceful sleep...otherwise just a calm and restful presence. The fact that they are coming together has to be a synchronicity, right? Kushiel's description in the book is much what you'd expect from the angel of punishment...pretty much, if you do wrong, you can expect to pay retribution. I can't find much about him online, other than he is also called The Rigid One, and he is the angel responsible for punishing souls in hell. Azrael seems to be his chief angel, and I do have a deep connection with Azrael. So, yeah, not feeling great about him. And I'm having trouble putting him together with Leliel. I think my fear of him is blocking my understanding, and I'm caught up in, "Well what the hell am I doing?" I'm not a malicious person, and I'm not seeking to be dishonest or harmful in any way, so I'm just confused. Is this punishment directed at me for some unknown offense? Am I being punished, and that's why he left me? If so, for what? I pulled some tarot to ask for further explanation, and I got cards like the King of Pentacles, Knight of Cups, 10 of cups, and 4 of Wands. wtf? Help?
katrinka Posted November 9, 2020 Posted November 9, 2020 You're obviously not going to find yourself in literal hell, so try ramping it down. In general, hell and punishment can be something as minor as an upset stomach or a hangover. (Overindulgence does come with built in punishments. So does overwork. Everything, really. So that wasn't a moral judgement on cheesecake or cocktails, just a heads up to exercise moderation with whatever the deck is talking about.) Or the two cards together can be talking about insomnia. I wouldn't worry about it. Additionally, in the context of your question, it's not even you who will "go through hell." You asked how to handle things with your ex, and that's what the cards answered. I don't know your situation, but it's possible he did you some real dirt at some point and you need to "punish" him some before giving him "hope" or "peace". Alternately, he could be "going through hell" already and the cards might be telling you to offer peace and calm. Those are just possibilities, I don't have the deck and I don't know the order the cards turned up in. It sounds exceptionally balanced for an angel deck, though. Most of them are "No bad cards!" decks and offer reassurance, but no insights. 2 hours ago, Helena said: This is a smaller deck, only 33 cards, so I was only pulling 2 at most to ask for advice from angels about how to handle things with my estranged husband. You can do larger spreads with small decks. Lenormand has 36 cards and the whole deck is often laid out and read. I'd certainly suggest more than two cards, you'd get more detail.

Lol...point taken. 😏 24 minutes ago, katrinka said: Or the two cards together can be talking about insomnia. Oh yes! I hadn't considered this, but yes, I have been suffering from insomnia, and anytime I've mentioned it around him, he says he has too. 26 minutes ago, katrinka said: Additionally, in the context of your question, it's not even you who will "go through hell." And as for the deck being balanced, I really feel like it is too. That's one thing that drew me to it. The cards themselves seem very multi-faceted. Thank you for your insights!
Helena Posted November 10, 2020 Author Posted November 10, 2020 I wanted to share this...I decided to contemplate this some more, so I laid out the Leliel and Kushiel cards and asked tarot to help me understand what message they were trying to give. I'm only going to list the ones that really resonated with me. There were others, but these are the ones where my intuition had an aha moment. The first card out was Justice. Interesting - Leliel - night - darkness - Justice - blindfold. They have obscured vision in common. Kushiel - punishment - just desserts - discipline - Justice - fairness - balanced. 2 of pentacles - balance - juggling - perpetual motion I asked what am I being guided to do? 5 of swords - again, some sort of point toward righteous dealings. Honesty, integrity with words. Pick your battles, but fight the ones that are needed. So, in summary, I feel like Justice is the main theme here, with all those other balance and fair dealings cards. I don't feel like it's an imminent warning, per se, just a heads up to make sure I'm on the up and up and continue to be.
