DownUnderNZer Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 3 in 1 Lenormand Deck PERSONAL DECK ONLY I created my very own personal Lenormand deck for various reasons, it took 3 days, and it should be arriving at my doorstep in a few weeks as I had to use a Printer from abroad. There are 108 cards in it and it checks all the boxes for me when it comes to a Lenormand deck. Simplicity, quality, no distractions, the numbers stand out, and the images cannot be mistaken or missed. Black and White numbers. 8 people cards. High-quality images. And there will be additional Men and Women with the extra ones I am almost finished doing. Enjoyed it that much that I am working on some bonus cards! THANKS TO ALL THE AVAILABLE RESOURCES OUT THERE!!! It cost under $100.00, but I did opt for a few extras plus plastic cards. SOME OF THE IMAGES Letter+Lily+Key+Fish The Letter I did all by my little creative self and there were a number of others I had to work on as well to make the correct image or images. Lots of adjusting, tweaking, saturation modification etc. I chose certain Men and Women and was very selective when it came to children for the Child card. No exposure or exploitation whatsoever. The floral image seen is the back design I chose for it. Am hoping the end product is as excellent as seen in the Printer's website and to date am pleased with what has been achieved and in the time that it was completed.
EmpyreanKnight Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 It must be a great feeling to work with a deck which is yours and yours alone, which nobody else has or will ever have. And since you created it yourself, its images will resonate with you, something that might in turn make your readings more inspired. I think I will take a page from your book and create a deck for myself when time permits. Thanks DnD. :)
DownUnderNZer Posted November 20, 2017 Author Posted November 20, 2017 Well, some of it was created through a bit of elbow grease and imagination, but the rest filtered through via different sources. What is great about it - is that there are no copyright issues whatsoever! It must be a great feeling to work with a deck which is yours and yours alone, which nobody else has or will ever have. DownUnderNZer Posted November 20, 2017 Author Posted November 20, 2017 MEN & WOMEN I think these are my final choices which include the original first eight and the extras in the bonus deck I just completed last night. One is also a real transvestite I believe or posing as one. Want to be sexual orientation friendly, so some of these cards can be used for straight people and others for gay/lesbian or other. Wish I could find some photographs I have of this one place here in Sydney that was used for that film: "Priscilla - Queen of the Desert" as I went there with some friends once and took some really cool photos before they closed the doors for the final time. Drop dead gorgeous transvestites that put some women to shame!. And the most stunning one there was named "Monique" who was actually a man from NZ. A few decades on and I still remember... WOMEN The ones facing in the direction that the MAN normally would are the ones nominated to represent lesbians or other. Other being - the third wheel of a relationship. Maybe even just a WOMAN that is independent, single, and content to be in no relationship. Will see... MEN Same goes for the MEN except that there is one transvestite that can represent all those that want something different to represent them or others. Finding the right male image was like finding a needle in a haystack! Slim Pickings and that is putting it mildly. But something about these MEN did catch my eye for whatever reason. I just wanted men that looked like they were deep in thought (women as well) and facing either to the left or right. And in the bonus deck I wanted one that looked like a warrior or a Game of Thrones type and the second image fits that perfectly. He actually has beautiful blue eyes and is handsome. The "IT" factor as well - something had to stand out for each whether male or female etc.
DownUnderNZer Posted November 20, 2017 Author Posted November 20, 2017 FINAL CUT WHAT ONE MAN AND WOMAN CARD LOOK LIKE TOGETHER Bit of the top taken off of them by mistake, but I am sure you get the idea. Good luck to you when you make a move to work on something yourself!
DownUnderNZer Posted November 20, 2017 Author Posted November 20, 2017 BTW: With the PEOPLE cards I also put the numbering to the left or right - did not matter. Most are in the top left corner though which seems to be the same for all Lenormand decks. Just the direction mattered really. Will see how that decision pans out when the cards are physically in my hands. I did not really want to place importance on the numbers as long as they could be READ. P.s. And one other card I think I put the number down the bottom (non-person) rather than the top, but I do not think it needs to be used. I just liked the image that much that I had to have it!
DownUnderNZer Posted November 20, 2017 Author Posted November 20, 2017 TAKING A PEEK AT THE WARROR WITH ONE WOMAN My curiosity has gotten the better of me. Two of my chosen new people cards (could change if I see them in a new light) that seem to work at this time of the morning. 3:20am. Will it change? Be back later tonight to work on aligning the numbers and will take a fresh look again then. But for now...
DownUnderNZer Posted November 21, 2017 Author Posted November 21, 2017 DISCOVERED SOMETHING ABOUT THE PEOPLE CARDS Am sure this must be the same for others. When working on it only individual cards can be done at a time, so it is hard to see how any would partner up or not. Not really at all unless you have an idea how you want them to be I suppose and both of them are side by side (if possible) if painting or drawing etc. In fact, it was not something I considered until I was trying the Warrior look-alike card out last night with the Woman I chose. I actually realized it then. Anyways.... Liking it still. Seems like it is a Warrior and Seductress together. Just adjusted her. And NOW am finishing off and aligning the numbers before putting it through to be printed off. If I ever have another creative urge in the future I will look at finding OLD or OLDER PEOPLE next to represent mature age groups. However, no one too wrinkly, spuggly, or with atrocious teeth that would send anyone running a mile. No one with mouths attached to cigarettes either.
DownUnderNZer Posted November 24, 2017 Author Posted November 24, 2017 THE ANTICIPATION IS A KILLER! Both have been shipped about a week apart yet one will arrive, according to the Printer, before mid-December and the other after Christmas. LIKE WTH?!? Maybe they are just factoring in that it is that TIME OF THE YEAR again with CHRISTMAS MAIL being inundated soon. I WANT TO SEE WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE SOONER RATHER THAN LATER IN THE FLESH AND WISH TELEPORTING REALLY DID EXIST!
DownUnderNZer Posted November 29, 2017 Author Posted November 29, 2017 THE FIRST DECK CAME TODAY!!! Am so impressed with it that I will be ordering another one after Christmas minus a few people cards and maybe with a few new added ones for good measure. These cards are not too different to any other deck even though made of plastic. They are thin and light but easy to handle and not slippery at all. Would fool anyone as they are a fantastic natural feel. No odors or smells either. I even did the "bendy" test on one to see if it would bounce back to the same shape and form. Voila! Straight as straight can be. The cards are easy to shuffle and are perfect in every way. Images to follow.....
DownUnderNZer Posted November 29, 2017 Author Posted November 29, 2017 IMAGE OF CARDS Does it look a bit crooked? It does to me. But nevertheless - still fine to view. The MICE are not quite that bright or lit up, so it must be the angle I am doing it at trying to get them all in.
DownUnderNZer Posted November 29, 2017 Author Posted November 29, 2017 IMAGE B: 3 in 1 plus the Blue Owl Not blurry anymore - changed it! LOVE my little LETTER creation so much it has gone to deck number one.
DownUnderNZer Posted November 29, 2017 Author Posted November 29, 2017 IMAGE CLOSE UP: 3 in 1 plus the Blue Owl A bit better perhaps seeing the size difference.
DownUnderNZer Posted November 29, 2017 Author Posted November 29, 2017 I HAVE A CROSS TO BEAR Well, actually Towers, Crosses, and Dogs. Seeing them in comparison to the Blue Owl and in White and Black numbering.
DownUnderNZer Posted December 4, 2017 Author Posted December 4, 2017 SMALL WORLD: NOT FOR SALE! One of the images I have - I got special authorized permission from the person who made it. I promised to show a photo of the end results and did it with that image in it. Just now he emailed asking if he could buy some decks as Christmas presents! These are just for personal use, but what I emailed back was I could make a few extra ones of just that particular card, next year, and mail it to him. Plastic cards as well so hopefully long lasting and durable. Small world...
DownUnderNZer Posted December 7, 2017 Author Posted December 7, 2017 The BONUS CARDS arrived today! Now on to doing the BEST OF DECK/DECKS plus a few extras which will be lined up for the New Year when there is no Christmas mail influx or deadlines. Also, a few additional cards to be sent to the one that let me use one of his images.
Page of Ghosts Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 I really like your deck(s?)! I've seen a few other people on youtube who made their own decks with photos (I only saw tarot, not lenormand) and it seems like such a nice project to do. Are they working out well for you?
DownUnderNZer Posted September 3, 2018 Author Posted September 3, 2018 Did not see your reply until now. I LOVE them and have no regrets making them. It was a bit of work with the right resolutions having to be met and at times sizing the image so it would fit. It was not always that simple. The LETTER I made became a card in my number one deck and I think the OWLS as well which is another one I did - two actually. Not in the reserves at all. I was fortunate enough to find the right resources when I did and be creative enough to make a few cards myself that blended well. I recommend taking the plunge! :) DND <3 I really like your deck(s?)! DownUnderNZer Posted September 17, 2018 Author Posted September 17, 2018 Melia Thanks! I think there is truth to what you say. I still adore the Blue Owl and doubt that will ever change though. BTW: Good to see you in the forums! I have a few things going on in the Lenormand and Oracle exchanges if you're interested. DND <3 Some really nice images DownUnderNZer. ;) Thanks for sharing.
