So I have recently started reading tarot for myself which has led me to start to cleanse my chakras through meditation using a recording from The Gem Goddess. My question is basically how will I know when all of my chakras are cleared? In particular I am interested in opening my third eye to help with learning tarot and practising divination more accurately. What are peoples experiences with this? Any advice on how I will know my third eye is open and my chakras cleared?
Guest Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Kundalini? 🐍 Meditation is a small part of opening the 3rd eye 🧘♀️ Think of your body is a conduit for energy; you wouldn’t use a beer bottle to catch rain drops? A Yogi might awaken the Kundalini… I doubt you would want to even read Tarot if you did… you wouldn’t need to 😂 I believe Adiyogi Shiva might have opened the third eye… but I don’t know the Sanskrit well enough 🙏

I’ve heard that tarot helps too so I am practicing tarot and meditation at the moment. Was just looking for anything else I can be doing.

The meditation I am following is specific to cleansing the chakras and involves breathing out to release unwanted energy and also filling each chakra with white light energy. It is also charged with Reiki.

Any advice on how I will know my third eye is open and my chakras cleared? I don't know how you know as such, but I work with the chakras regularly. You don't need to do yoga to connect with them. I like to use a quick visualisation mediation to imagine a clearing and cleansing energy in each chakra before I start my yoga Asana practise. This just settles me in the moment so I can focus more clearly on the energies in my body while on the mat. I don't really know how to explain it, other than the chakra just feels right to me. I have seen someone use a pendulum to see how the energy of the chakra is flowing. But keep practising, and you'll find both tarot and chakra opening gets easier the more you do it

stephanelli Posted November 17, 2021 Posted November 17, 2021 @Newpath I've been thinking and doing a little extra research about this so I can be more helpful here... I think what you might find helpful is to see if you have any of the signs of an unbalanced chakra. For the Third Eye chakra this can include headaches, difficulties with concentration, dreaming more than usual, nightmares, poor memory... The list goes on. (But do remember that some of these can be signs of a physical problem so if in doubt see a doctor.) When it's balanced you'll hopefully feel like you can think clearly and logically but also trust in your intuition. (You can find lots of posts online with signs of unbalanced/balanced chakras if you're interested. Here's a nice post with a beginner's guide to all the chakras: https://www.yogajournal.com/practice/yoga-sequences-level/beginners-guide-chakras/ And here's one specify for the third eye: https://www.yogajournal.com/yoga-101/chakratuneup2015-intro-ajna/ ) I also learnt an interesting meditation from a traveling yoga teacher who visited a friend's house regarding specifically activating the third eye chakra. You might find it useful to do! It's one of my favourites, although I admit that when I do it later at night I tend to fall asleep... 1. Sit somewhere comfortable for meditation and close your eyes. 2. Focus on your breath to start with and then slowly become aware of your whole body, trying to relax anything that is tight. 3. When you are ready, focus on your third eye. Keeping your eyes shut, if it is comfortable, look up at the third eye. While keeping this focus, begin counting backwards from 100. 4. When you reach 0 sit quietly for a moment and feel if the energy around and within you has changed. (I usually find I am able to concentrate better and my mind throws less distractions in the way). 5. At this point I sometimes meditate on a specific tarot card if I want to delve deeper into it. You could add pretty much any other meditation here if you wanted. 5. Slowly come out of the meditation by first moving your eyes away from the third eye if they are still there. Focus on the breath. Then your body. With your eyes still closed, listen to the sounds around you, feel the energy in the room. When you're ready open your eyes. Have you done much in the way of tarot, meditation or similar before? You don't need to work with the chakras to be a good tarot reader, but the meditation practice has helped me with concentration and given me space to connect intuitively with some cards I struggled with, but this didn't replace studying the cards and learning their meanings. Hope this has been helpful though!

The thing is I don’t actually know which chakras are blocked but I got the feeling they all are slightly. As for the meditation with a tarot card. I have only just started meditation a couple of weeks ago. I’m not even convinced that I’m doing it properly just yet. 😂 The one thing I have noticed though is that my tarot reading has become easier. I’m not sure if that’s down to; meditation, my chakras becoming clearer or just that I have had more practice with the cards. (I read daily)

My best suggestion is to keep working on it, it's a process that can take a while! Again...with practise it becomes easier. Some days it feels hard and impossible to focus the mind, some days you'll just drop straight into it! Guided meditation is your friend at this stage. YouTube has plenty.
