2024 Spiritual Resolutions

Hi all,

 

I know that some people find setting New Years’ resolutions a bit cringy and silly, but I absolutely love them! I like the feeling of a fresh start. I’m curious what your spiritual resolutions are, or if you hate the word ‘resolutions’, then feel free to share some goals and exciting things that you’re planning on doing next year!

 

Here’s some of mine. The list is still work in progress, and I may steal some of your ideas 😉 :

 

1. I would like to learn Lenormand. I’ve been dabbling in it for years but I was never fully confident with it. Perhaps I will treat myself to a new deck (Honey Hive Lenormand by Jamie Sawyer) to kick off this journey. My current deck is a bit dark and same-y, and I’m very much a visual learner. Any books and other recommendations are greatly appreciated.

 

2. I want to deepen my Pagan practice. I have purchased Intuitive Witchcraft by Astrea Taylor so I’m hoping to read it sometime this year. I also have Buckland’s Complete Book of Witchcraft stored away somewhere, so I would like to read it as well. I’m also interested in Deborah Blake’s everyday witchcraft books - any recommendations? There’s quite a few to choose from.

 

3. I want to deepen my Tarot practice - currently my plan is to keep doing what I’m doing, plus draw card-a-day to guide my learning. The goal is to be consistent. 

 

What about you guys? Anything exciting happening in 2024?

Depending on how much energy I have by the 2nd half of the year - and how much money in the bank (as there are a few mundane things

that I'd like to get done around the house in the new year) - I plan to work on processing those 80 photographs that I have, and turn them into

my Tarot deck.

It may not happen until 2025 though - we shall see.  I guess I'll at least make a decision on what kind of program I'm going to use to "process" the photos.

That sounds really fun Tanga! I've been thinking of creating my own Tarot deck too, but I still feel like a beginner. Will you be selling the deck as well, or is it purely for own use?

Thanks for this topic. I often don't have big resolutions ... but this year? OMG!!!

 

I turn 60 on 6 January ... a milestone in itself. And my whole life is changing ... some by accident and some by intent.

I'm moving house. My partner is moving to a different state. I've quit 2 spiritual communities which were a central part of my life ...

 

I knew I wanted to do Death Cleaning prior to my 60th ... and officially started Halloween with the intent that between Halloween and my birth day be the first round. Then it turns out I'm moving house. So it became death cleaning AND packing to move };>

 

2024 goal #1 is to joyfully and creatively embrace a minimal simple life and authentic self

When I used to refinish furniture or doors and woodwork in old houses ... I would sand or heatgun off layers of paint and varnish to get to the original wood.

I want to do this to my SELF. I'm about to be 60 and have no idea who is my authentic self underneath all these layers and masks.

Part of this is letting go of all the THINGS that were toys for all the old selves.

I remember being younger and lighter ... before I accumulated so much STUFF. I can't recapture my youth ... but I can become lighter.

 

2024 goal #2 is to heal the RA

Perhaps an impossible goal. RA has no cure. I'm VERY sick with it now.

Yet I feel that goal #1 supports goal #2 in deep and subtle ways. The RA arose from genetics, sure, but also from certain emotional factors linked to NOT knowing or being my true self.

 

2024 Goal #3 is to discover my authentic spirituality

After leaving 2 spiritual communities and belief systems which were EVERYTHING to me ... I'm left with open space in my spiritual life. It feels free.

LOL I ate MEAT and it was DELICIOUS. I may go smoke tobacco or hashish or take some shrooms };> who knows? 

There are NO MORE rules other than those I make for myself. I will eat or ingest what my bodymindsoul authentically needs ... not what other people tell me is proper.

I think there will be one print run - own use, and everyone who starred in it who would like a copy.

My main goal is to trust my intuition and to work on my tarot skills too! I know I learn better through practice so reading more for others is something I’m wanting to do too. And just trusting my intuition more than I’ve done this year. I feel like that this has taken a back seat quite a bit.

Like in 2023 I'd like to explore more of my decks. I read with 22 decks for my DotW this year, so I must at least match that for 2024.

 

After that, I also plan to exclusively focus on one deck this 2024. I really should continue my 78 Weeks. 

 

Also more religious devotions. I'm planning two 54-day rosary and mass novenas for next year.
