Greetings,

I donated $10 to become a subscriber for a few months, until I can do more.

Why did the total revenue you've accumulated not go up by $10?

I wanted to see it bump a bit higher, because your yearly goal is very modest.

It looks like it just went up a few dollars, but I'm not sure.

feel free to answer this question via PM rather than posting.

Hi, good question 🙂

The TL;DR answer is they are separate ways of donating us money to keep going. Subscriptions don't appear on the donations bar, so don't panic 🙂

The full answer is there are two ways to donate to us:

Subscriptions - give members extra functions and extra areas of the forum (like unlimited editing, the off-topic chat area and competition) but also help to pay for our hosting and other costs. The regular income keeps this place online. Some members like to renew and keep it going regularly. But other members don't want to commit to a subscription. So there is also.....

Donations - they help to pay for the forum fees, these are the annual charges specifically for this forum software. We get new features, security updates and support with these annual maintenance fees.

Some people like to donate small amounts to us and also subscribe or they don't want to subscribe and just donate on their own terms. The bar at the top of the main pages is only for the donations coming in to cover the forum fees. So that is just how much the annual fees are.

All the money goes towards keeping this community going, there are hosting costs, domain costs and also we pay per year for the forum software with a maintenance charge. Ultimately, 100% of all the money goes towards covering these.

We welcome however anyone wants to support us, whichever method and how much they can give.

Thanks for supporting us by subscribing 🙏

Thank you Daniel!  Noted. And I'll try to contribute a bit to both this year.
