Mystic_Owl Posted March 24 Posted March 24 As I move through learning Lenormand, there's a big concept I'm having trouble understanding and I'm hoping more experienced readers can help. How do you incorporate a card as timing rather than meaning? I understand the mechanics of a card's timing, I just don't know how to read a card as such, or when to read a card as timing. All help appreciated!

All help appreciated! It's usually not timing rather than meaning. With a small spread you might read them, then look at timing. I've had best results by thinking of the cards as fast, medium or slow paced rather than using specific timing associations. Otherwise you'll get nonsense like "in 10-20 years (Bear)" for "When will my package arrive?" It's better to think of Bear as "slow" and put it in context. And you can look at whether the cards are all fast, mostly fast, etc. Some of the cards have timing "baked in" as part of the meaning: evening for Moon, night for Stars, summer for Sun, etc. Others are pretty arbitrary. Something that's less accurate, but fun, is a Timing Board. We used to use these a lot. Lay a GT and don't read it. Find the card that represents your question and see what house it's in. Let's say you're asking about money, you'd locate the Fish. And say it's in the Clover's house, so timing for the Clover is within 4 days.

I'm a newbie to Lenormand and am always excited to learn how to read the cards.

I'm still working my way up to a GT, but this will help me when I do box spreads, I was never able to give a time frame before. On 3/24/2025 at 4:05 PM, katrinka said: We used to use these a lot.
