Using Textures for Artwork

Featured Replies

I've seen lots of interesting artwork done with Photoshop Textures, i'm glad there are members here who also enjoy creating their own textures with their artwork. There are so many that you can choose from or you can use a camera. a friend of mine uses closeups of anything from wood to bricks and stones and then play with them in photoshop to create textures. Lately, I've been using a lot of photoshop patterns and just altering them with overlay filters and contrasts can make images stand out more

I've been using a texture to create a smokey background for my Devil card i've posted it on my blog. how do you use them and whats been your experience with creating textures. :)

it's me!:) I've only started using textures recently in my (Tarot) artwork & must say it add that extra flare!:D

I've experimented a lot with photos  in public domain like you friend say there are people who know how to do that!:) lolz

but also noticed you can make great backgrounds with some basic effects you can find in your img edit program(my is Gimp!XD it's amiracle what you can get if you combine rendering clouds hsv noise etc etc

my fav at the moment sand & gold!XD yet to find good way to combine it in my next Tarot project!^^ lolz
