Venus Rising Posted June 10, 2018 Posted June 10, 2018 Just saw this on Llewellyn's site http://www.llewellyn.com/blog/2018/6/mystical-faerie-gets-a-fresh-face/ They look great without the huge borders. Are the colours more saturated too? In some photos they look brighter, but in others they look the same as the original. I don't own this deck, but it's quite charming, isn't it? Probably nice to use for readings where the person is fearful of the tarot. I love how they're starting to realise that people want borderless decks. I do hope that they give the same treatment to the Mystic Dreamer someday ;D The art is so beautiful in that deck, but crammed into such a tiny space.

HOLMES Posted June 13, 2018 Posted June 13, 2018 I love a borderless deck (and decks that dont' have tarot meanings on it like Doreen virtues) . only thing for me is the lack of titles aka your six of pentacles,, or even numbers.. almost as if in the preview make it an more of intuitive deck if you know what I mean ?

Hi there, Holmes. :) The cards do have titles. The images in the blog post were just preview images, and Barbara noted that the text with the card name would be added. :)

Quester Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Just arrived!!! Love this version!! I have always loved the deck, but NOT the borders!!! It does have the titles and numbers just no border. :)
Jewel Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Is the companion book the same as with the original kit? Can the deck be purchased as a deck only? I have the original kit, and have to admit I have not used it, probably a combination of borders and mermaids wearing tops lol. But the borderless version does appeal to me more ... wish I could just swap out the decks.

The deck can be oredred separately, but I don't know if it is the first printing or not.... It is so much easier to pick out details without the border. For older eyes like mine it really makes a difference! I never used the other one even though I loved it as it seemed just too busy. I will use this one!! <3
Jewel Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Thank you Quester, I will have to wait to see if it is the newer version, I certainly do not need two of the old version lol.
