HOLMES Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 yes,, I been giving ideas to them on facebook, as they have their own facebook and belong to tarot nerds. she recently shared a post how she has suffered under purists I guess, saying it was just a fad and not a true tarot, major barkana had some good support from others on facebook.
joy Posted October 5, 2018 Author Posted October 5, 2018 Saturn Celeste[/member] Right, I think it is sooo cute :-) <3 HOLMES[/member] What a cute Devil! Thanks for sharing <3
Guest swedishfish Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 i don't see how anyone can say these aren't tarot cards! that sounds like jealousy. to me, tarot cards are a window to my own intuition, for a divinatory purpose. if dogs help some key in to their intuition? so be it!

Well, since there are plenty of purists that think the RWS is not a real tarot (because it’s not a part of the Marseille tradition) then this does not surprise me at all ::) (But I obviously disagree)

Yeah. And another thing that amuses me is that many purists talk about the true French tarot-tradition, despite all the evidence that those ‘marseille’ style decks really originated in Italy) :))
Ratty Posted October 6, 2018 Posted October 6, 2018 Yeah. And another thing that amuses me is that many purists talk about the true French tarot-tradition, despite all the evidence that those ‘marseille’ style decks really originated in Italy) I agree, but there are those who argue that a hundred years before that, tarot came to Italy from France (or even from Spain). The Charles VI tarot attribution is now thought to be false, but there are plenty of web-sites that still claim it's French 14th century, therefore predating Italy. I have to wonder if there are those who hold that the 70 card decks in middle 15th century Italy are the real thing (5 by 14 cards). What then of the Cary-Yale (Visconti-Modrone) inclusion of 15 card minor suits around the same period? It all gets silly very quickly.

Yep agree it does get silly and ego dominated and pointing fingers eg I am better than you. I believe what ever resonates with a person is ok.
