GreatDane Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 Thought I would start this thread because I thought of it after I posted pix of my first place in town when I moved to the Midwest from the Southwest. I don't spook easily. I look at logical, scientific reasons FIRST.... With that said, here are some things that happened from first days I was in an 1890's large attic apartment. 1. My dog who does not just growl and certainly doesn't raise his hackles without SEEING or HEARING another person or creature, stares into what would become my reading space, where there was nothing, and would just....stare and growl, stare and growl, never did that before, didn't do it in other rooms. 2. the landlady was sitting on the floor and jumped up saying she felt something brush by her. Just my dog and I there and my dog was in the other room and I was sitting on the floor as well, nowhere by her. 3. I would find things, "gifts",,,bits of colored glass, an earring, things like that that hadn't been there before (I was in a very high attic and people were not up there much at all and I knew when, yet one moment, nothing, next moment something glimmering...a "gift") 4. Sitting in my reading space, I noticed there were drops on a couple keys of my keyboard. I felt overhead, nothing dripping. I didn't have any liquid around it. Yet on three or four keys, a perfect drop of water (and no, didn't think to note at the time which keys!) 5. All of a sudden, a scent, like a perfume from decades, a century before, certainly nothing I wore and I was the only one who lived there, took over the space and then just started dissipating. Just a few things that happened while I was there. GREAT vibe to read in! (although I would cleanse the space....A LOT and often...at first. There was a strange vibe where my reading space was, but many people had stayed there over the years).
DownUnderNZer Posted January 25, 2019 Posted January 25, 2019 A) Years ago when my younger sister moved to this one house near the coast somewhere in Australia she noticed bit by bit strange things happening around and outside the house. Her dog would bark and go off at absolutely nothing, things would disappear and be moved around the house, and it escalated over a short time. I think her and my older sister ended up looking into the history of the place as it really spooked her and around 6 months she wanted to move out and did move out. Not too long after finding out the history. The last straw for her was coming home one night and when they closed the door (her and her boyfriend) more or less her car turned on the headlights by itself - she was inside holding the keys! Her dog nutting off in the lounge didn't help any either. I think that night was pretty much when they packed what they needed and left. No one actually died in the house - just directly outside (drive) in a hit and run. B) An older friend of mine after almost dying in surgery started "seeing things" post surgery whereas before that she was spiritual, but nothing more than that. Not far from our hometown, in the mid-80s, she moved into this beautiful home off of a lake as a part of the recovery process but also it was a new start for her and her kids. This more or less was when it all began for her. She told me little things started at first and the kids use to pick up on it as well, like keys not being where they should be, feeling like someone was watching, hair being gently pulled, lights going on and off etc. Sometimes she thought it was the kids being up to no good and other times she thought she was losing the plot. Anyways, she sent the kids to school one day and set about cleaning the house and had this funny feeling something wasn't right and when she went into the kitchen all the furniture was piled up high and drawers opened. Like what you see in the movies. She was actually quite scared because one minute it was not like that and the next minute it was this tower of chairs on a table. Not any mess like food all over the place or cutlery on the floor - just the furniture being moved about, piled up or opened up. She never stayed in it after that experience and I think it actually drove her to smoking. To calm her nerves. Her introduction to either one miserable ghost or a very mischief poltergeist. DND X/
