Whompingwillow Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 Hi Everyone I'm new here and have been checking out the oracle threads. I haven't noticed Frouds Faeries Oracle. This really is my go to O deck at the moment. The readings are so on the mark. The art work is amazing and each cards personal energy comes through. Some of the fae like to give you that gentle reminder or nudge others are more persistent and a bit cheeky but whether I know it at the time or not, it's always what I need. If that makes sense. They are also a awesome mediation tool to use. I'd love to hear of others experience with this deck. How do they read for you? Do odd things perhaps happen when using this deck? Whompingwillow x
Flaxen Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 There are a few of us who are fans of this deck. :) There is some a strong energy with this deck and I often feel like I’m communicating with real beings when I use it. Definitely start to get odd happenings and a bit of cheekiness!
TheFeeLion Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 I love this deck. It's an old friend and one I can always trust to give me the answers I need rather than the ones I want. I always have fun playing with my Faeries deck, even if it's just by sorting and resorting them into different piles and groupings. It was by using this deck that I discovered I didn't like asking about the future because I'd quite possibly get answers I didn't like. So now I tend to focus on things I can do something about instead of what's coming in the future. That way I don't need to worry about weird things like self-fulfilling prophecies and what ifs. I will always come back to this deck, even if it's been a while since I last used it. I know it will give me compassionate, cheeky, sometimes smart-mouth, sometimes brick-through-window, but always honest answers
Whompingwillow Posted April 21, 2019 Author Posted April 21, 2019 Thanks for the replies. Aye, totally agree.about the cheekiness and sometimes getting the cards you maybe weren't wanting or expecting. Really is something magical about this deck. Would be good if more people were interested and we could get a study group of sorts going. I got the Glancomer today which I wasn't thrilled about but it's a truth I needed to hear! Got to love this deck! Blessings WW
Whompingwillow Posted April 21, 2019 Author Posted April 21, 2019 I also get what your saying Flaxen[/member] about being real beings. It's a beautiful thing, if not a bit unnerving at times. Love your username TheFeeLion[/member] he is a good cars for giving me a nudge! Blessings
FLizarraga Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 This deck has quite the following. I'm glad it found you, Whompingwillow! To me, it gives really rich readings, and its playfulness is a wonderful thing, if mindboggling at times. (And yes, it can be unnerving!) I also bought Froud's second deck, The Heart of Faerie Oracle, and for a while I used them together, but ended up separating them again as I find the second, while wonderful in its own right, is not as good as the first. I find it less focused, and the writing is not as good as Jessica Macbeth's. To be fair, the second would have awed me had the first one not existed already.
Whompingwillow Posted April 22, 2019 Author Posted April 22, 2019 I have heard a lot of people that have a very similar view to yours FLizarraga[/member] To be honest after getting the first deck I was back and fourth about getting HoF. I decided not to at this time, it just doesn't appeal to me the same way this one did. I probably will end up giving in at somepoint out of curiosity. It's nice to know the deck gives others that magical feel to it and has its own following. Blessings WW
FLizarraga Posted April 24, 2019 Posted April 24, 2019 Like I said, Whompingwillow, the Heart of Faerie is an awesome deck by any standard. Its only disadvantage is the fact that it came after the Faeries Oracle, which is one of the most unique oracle decks ever created. It's like the Bach family --all geniuses, all magnificent musicians, but Johann Sebastian is the one that stands out and overshadows the rest.
Whompingwillow Posted April 25, 2019 Author Posted April 25, 2019 Thanks for your input. Knowing myself it will probably be in my collection soon. I already have a few decks in my Amazon basket, just waiting till pay day. Blessings x
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted April 26, 2019 Posted April 26, 2019 There was a years long thread at an old forum about what the fairies got up to when we weren't looking. there are also some wonderful companion books; Lady cottington, good fairy bad fairy, etc.

The humor is rather macabre, but of course that's right up my alley.
