Question Re: Advertising

Featured Replies

So, I've been considering paying for advertising here, but then I noticed that subscriptions mean you don't see ads? Is that like... OTHER outside advertising, or are there people who pay to advertise their services here and then other people who pay to not see those ads? (well, yes, a subscription gives you more than just ad-free browsing, but it is listed as a perk!)

Subs don't have ad-free anything since we don't have Google ads on here anymore. Let me know where you see that so I can correct it!

It was in, funnily enough, an ad at the bottom of a forum thread, I think (forgive me if I have the placement wrong, I haven't yet had coffee!)

You may have caught a dash of malware. It happened last month on the dragon forum I'm on - also invision. Try adwcleaner. It's free.

ETA Oops wait - you mean that the "ads" for subs say no ads. Little Fang - they do say that!

But adwcleaner is still a Very Good Thing !

I thought subscribers got no ads. I am getting a LARGE thing, ALL the time, asking me to turn off my adblocker - "or subscribe". I DO subscribe.

Clarification please....

It does seem to have stopped now.... So a glitch, probably. No worries - I was just puzzled and thought this thread was the obvious place to be puzzled in...
