Star Tarot, 78 card deck

Hi Friends,

Does anyone here own the 78 card version of the Star Tarot? My understanding is that this version (vs. the major acana-only version) was just released not too long ago. Here's a link to an interview that contains some depictions. http://tarotparlor.com/blog/star-tarot-interview/

Just curious if anyone here has this deck, as well as your experiences with it, if so.

Thanks in advance!

Sandy

Yes! I have it. There's actually a thread discussing the deck here, although the discussion there is mostly about people waiting for their deck to be shipped. Not sure if the mods will want to merge these threads.

In any event, I had pre-ordered the deck and received mine I believe in late August. On first look-through I wasn't sure how I felt about the deck. The art is gorgeous, but I thought that perhaps the borders muted or overwhelmed the art. Also as beautiful as it was, I wasn't sure if I was going to really connect with it in a working sense.

Well, I'll say that any concerns I had fell away with my first reading. I found I connected with the cards immediately, and all the readings I've done with it so far have felt very deep.

It also feels like an uplifting deck to me. It's quite deep with a lot of symbolism, but it's brightly colored and a lot of the imagery invokes childhood dreams to me. I can see myself pulling this one out to give me some cheer in the middle of the dark, colorless days of winter.

I've seen a lot of people talking about trimming their deck because they didn't like the borders, but once I started working with it I found I didn't mind them at all. I haven't seen pictures/video of anyone who actually has trimmed theirs. I'm curious what it would look like. I'm not a deck trimmer myself (I'd be terrified of ruining a deck! and also I usually don't mind borders, although there are some bad ones), but I'd love to see others' work on this deck.

RaveonOfSummer,

Thanks so much for your input! My intuitive feeling was that although they are gorgeous, I might end up admiring them more than using them. I'm glad you had a similar reservation but that it dissipated. And Lol! I would never trim a deck, either, for fear I'd ruin it!

Thank you for weighing in.

Kind Regards,

Sandy
