Lantana Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 There's a pros and cons thread on the Tarot Deck board but not one for oracles, so I hope no one minds if I start one up. Ask about any oracle you're on the fence about and we'll see if we can enable or de-enable you! Right now I'm not sure about the ExtraOrdinary Oracle. It's been on my wishlist for a couple months now, but looking at my current oracle collection I have to wonder if I really need it! I'd love to hear some thoughts on how it reads and if it brings anything really groundbreaking to the table.
bastetly Posted November 8, 2018 Posted November 8, 2018 I have one I think I may want but just. not. sure. Can anyone who has The Wild Kuan Yin Oracle tell me why I should, or why I should NOT try to obtain it? I am looking at the first ed. w the larger book. I need to save money if this oracle is not easy to understand. Thanks!

Can anyone who has The Wild Kwan Yin Oracle tell me why I should, or why I should NOT try to obtain it? I am looking at the first ed. w the larger book. I need to save money if this oracle is not easy to understand. Thanks! It's a gorgeous deck! The companion book meanings are kind of new agey but the cards are so expressive that you can still use the deck. I've very happy to have the deck and I enjoy using it. I do want to say this about Oracle decks. They can really cost a lot of money if you don't be careful. They are all so different and it's easy to think you've got to have that deck and that deck and that deck but look at the number of cards you're getting for the cost. I don't buy oracle decks with less than 44 cards and even then I rarely get a deck with that few of cards. I prefer decks with 52 - 66+ cards anyway, for the money. And make sure you know what you're looking for when it comes to the card meaning. Some of them are so far out there, they tend to be useless unless you just want to use the images but that's a bit of a waste for the amount that oracle decks can cost. They're not cheap!

Am so glad that you can use it! New Agey card meanings, hmmm. Maybe I can find a snippet of the book somewhere. The book is important to me unless I just try and read the pictures which I don't think wd work w this deck. Or does it?

The book is important to me unless I just try and read the pictures which I don't think wd work w this deck. Or does it? I have to use the companion book with this deck. The titles are so lovely and mystical but I have no idea who and what some of these names are! I was just reading that they have possibly put out a new edition with more concise card meanings. But I love the deck! I love the images and want to work with them so that's really all you need to enjoy the deck! This isn't the book meanings but an archive on interpretations. Might give more people some insights into the deck. https://www.surpliceofspirit.com/tag/wild-quan-yin-oracle/
Jewel Posted November 14, 2018 Posted November 14, 2018 I am interested in the Witches Wisdom Oracle Cards. Anyone here have and use these?

Sounds a LOT like many of the oracle meanings that my others have, minus using the name "Kuan Yin". While enjoying the pictures and positive messages, I am going to pass, and if I wish to learn more about Kuan Yin I will explore the more traditional sources first. By all means continue to enjoy! It looks like a FUN and uplifting deck but that link just saved me the bucks for something else on my wishlist :)
Carus Posted November 15, 2018 Posted November 15, 2018 I've been looking at "Angelarium - Oracle of Emanations" as my first foray into oracle cards. As a Thoth Reader who deals in Qabalah and Hermeticism I was thinking it might be a good choice. Has anyone got it and what do they think?

Shivani and Rose have been doing an Angelarium exchange so you might want to stop by and read their thread! https://www.thetarotforum.com/oracle-exchagnes/angelarium-exchanges-shivani-and-rose-lalonde/
Lantana Posted November 25, 2018 Author Posted November 25, 2018 I completely forgot I even made this thread... :bugeyed: The only oracle I’ve got my eye on at the moment is the Dark Moon Damsel. Kind of want to get it as a companion to the Sasuraibito, but would love to hear from anyone who has it.
theoijonitamat Posted December 27, 2018 Posted December 27, 2018 For oracle deck, funnily, Tarot and Oracle are the same for me ;D. I realise that this also had to do with the people who created these decks. Some messages on the decks along with the visualisations does not make sense to me. A couple of oracle decks i work with are the Self-love Oracle deck, Bach Flower Oracle deck.
GreatDane Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 THE HALLOWEEN ORACLE. Really on the fence with this one. OK, I am MUCH more a tarot or Lenormand person. The only "oracle" decks I have had was PsyCards and Madame Endora's and just didn't use them much, so moved them along. But if I were going to work with a deck, the Halloween Oracle seems appealing. Obviously images are important to me and I don't just see this as a Halloween/Samhain deck, but something I could use all year. THIS is the deck I am referring to https://www.amazon.com/Halloween-Oracle-Lifting-between-Worlds/dp/0738744956 SO...any have it and thoughts? Do you work with it much? Like it, use...or not?
ashwsh Posted January 22, 2019 Posted January 22, 2019 Has anybody tired Oracle of Rama..I know someone who uses it and is quite good but still would like to know more
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 Grand jeu de l Oracle des Dames have it? I have a yen...
Kicia Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 I have the Halloween Oracle. It can definitely be used year round. The art work is gorgeous and I like that it's a nice balance of light and dark cards.
Saturn Celeste Posted February 9, 2019 Posted February 9, 2019 Has anybody tired Oracle of Rama..I know someone who uses it and is quite good but still would like to know more Yes! the Oracle of Rama is not like a regular oracle card. There is no image and a word or phrase underneath. Instead it is a system that uses 2 different cards to determine your oracle. Here are some related links that will explain better than me! https://www.tarotforum.net/showthread.php?t=122173 This is an image of both cards, you need a god card and the divination card. It is an amazing deck.
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted February 10, 2019 Posted February 10, 2019 Grand jeu de l Oracle des Dames have it? I have a yen... I have this now and it isn't technically an oracle, but it is... based on the Etteilla w/majors and minors, but the numbering is 1 through 78 and the companion book gives the fortunes associated with each number. Interesting! And beautiful
