Full disclosure tho: I only asked because a close friend knows someone who seems like he can really perform this, as he is quite well-known round these parts. Anyway, my friend even offered to pay for my session/s as long as I accompany her. I'm inclined not to partake of this tho, because I don't think I'd want to delve too deeply into the (very) distant past, if it does exist. I'd prefer to let sleeping dogs lie.

I know someone who does regression hypnosis. She says it works and is helpful for some people who wants to understand the present by knowing the past. But you need to really want to dig into past lives and be ready that it could be difficult. It's not something you do just for curiosity, it is  more linked to some kind of therapy. That said, I've never tested and don't plan to for now so I've not asked too much question about this.

Thanks for the insight, Esk! I decided to just accompany her for support and not personally avail of the program. I can't put my finger on it, but I just felt (and still do) very wary of the whole thing.

Yes, I do believe that reincarnation does occur. I do not have any idea of the belief that all of us have lived multiple lives is true or not, but certainly many people have. There have been well documented cases (and some that seem more or less apocryphal) which are quite compelling to me.

 

On a more personal level. I had recurring dreams when I was much younger which showed me being in an AAF bomber in WWII (copilot) and being shot down. But I have not delved into what I had experienced in the dreams as some important details were not revealed (such as the name of the bomber, or my own name). Though it is something which I do wish to explore through meditations and/or scrying.

I am in the process of doing some follow-up readings to get further details for her, including why she needed to learn about that past life at this particular time.

 

So, I have my own personal experience, as well as that of a couple of Tarot readings (the original and one follow-up so far) which indicat that, to my way of thinking, reincarnation does occur. When I add the personal experiences with published sources, it pretty well confirms the belief for me.

When I was small I remember being "somewhere up there" and looking down on earth and trying to figure out just where I was going.  Of course that all could have been a dream, and in case it was there are other things. 

 

I've taken quite an extensive amount of metaphysical classes which involved many guided meditations.  One had us visit our past lives and they all seem to resonate with things I'm interested in. 

 

My husband, when he was very young would often speak to his mother about "his other mom".  As in, his mother would tell him not to do such and such and he would say he didn't understand, because his other mom always let him do it.

 

If anyone is interested in past lives and whether they might be real or not, check out Dr. Brian Weiss.  He's a psychiatrist who had no belief in past lives until he was putting his patients under hypnosis to just try to go back into their childhoods.  One of his patients really started going further back than he current life, and he began to pursue all of this. 

 

I'm a huge skeptic.  I don't believe anything I haven't felt for myself. I was believing in past lives long before anyone told me it was a thing. I could still be wrong, I'll see when I get to the other side :)
