Today, I asked a mundane question: Do I need a copy of Mervyn Peake’s Gormenghast Trilogy for my own personal library? Sad News - Much Money (here retitled Gain) I could see this meaning the book would cheer me up. For my library, it will be an asset, filling a gap or void. — I’m undecided, though, whether the second card emphasises or counteracts the first. If the former, I could read this pair as great regret. — I would say that regret is unlikely in the context of building my library. The book is a classic, even though I’ve not read it in its entirely. I suppose the sensible thing would be to borrow it from the local library and if it appeals, get my own copy, but then we are not reading the cards anymore. — I wonder whether the message in the bottle image in the first card is meaningful?
