Cirque du Tarot New Deck Interview by Natural Mystic Guide
Feedback, questions and comments are welcome.
I am experiencing another one of those love/hate relationships with the Cirque Du Tarot by Leeza Robertson and illustrated by Josh Tufts. Mostly hate. Only because, for me, aesthetics trumps all else. I just really do not like the art. Some of the colors are just reminiscent of barf. Barf. I don’t like a lot of the people pictured either. I just don’t like them.
This deck was a lovely gift from a student/friend. She uses this deck a lot. Our work is remote. I love being able to hold in my hands the exact same card that she is looking at. Hey, she re-colored her deck. The themes of circus and performance are resonant for her. Me? Circuses scare me. I only went to one as a child. Enough. Already.
So I was kind of predisposed not to like this deck. But I agree with my friend. I put in the time to thoroughly read the accompanying book. Many of the meanings for individual cards are unique, positive and upbeat. That I like.
So again, I really do want to give this deck a chance. It will remain in my collection as we do use it as a working deck. But maybe there are some hidden factors. I’m totally open to what this new deck interview has to tell me.
Today’s interview questions:
1. Welcome to my temple, to my home, and to my mission work. How do you describe yourself? Five of Cups, Rx.
2. What are your strengths? Ace of Swords.
3. What are your challenges or limitations as a deck?
4. What is your favorite type of reading?
5. Advice for strengthening and enjoying our relationship together.
6. What lesson are you here to share with me right now?
1. Welcome to my temple, to my home, and to my mission work. How do you describe yourself? Five of Cups ‘Emotional Healing’
“Leap and the net will appear.” — Zen saying
Life is messy. **** happens all of the time. I kind of enjoy drama and emotional turmoil. At least it’s not boring. I have wisdom to share. To access it you are going to have to wade into the murk, the barf, the topsy turvy of a milieu that is often exciting and sometimes illusional.
This lack of discipline and control can sometimes bring interesting and unexpected insights and results. When you enter my world it can be quite a wild ride. Hold on. Keep an open mind. Enjoy the show.
This is not a Lonely Hearts Club deck. Questions about ‘Is She Thinking About Me’ or ‘Are We Going to get Back Together Again?’ or ‘Will He Call Me?’ Nope. The Cirque du Tarot deck is about moving forward at all costs. The show must go on.
2. What are your strengths? Ace of Swords ‘Altruism’
You may be so unclear about what you want to know and what you want to do next that you have trouble formulating the right questions to ask. Not to worry. I have a gift of discerning just what guidance is right for you. Relax and keep an open mind. Answers and direction are coming.
3. What are your challenges or limitations as a deck? ‘Mother of Pentacles ‘Tradition’
I’m kind of challenged when it comes to down to earthy practical types of things. Perhaps my family of origin were all circus performers. Constantly on the move, our family culture lacked stability and groundedness.
So we are not the best deck for questions having to do with physical health concerns, home improvement, career questions or money management.
4. What is your favorite type of reading? Three of Pentacles ‘Co-Creation’
I am very interested in the process of supporting a team or group of people to work cooperatively together to create something — particularly on the material plane. How can people best be productive and work in harmony? How can each person in a group be able to find their own voice and the best way to contribute? So I like readings that are about cooperative projects and teamwork. I like readings that are about creating something of utility and lasting beauty.
5. Advice for strengthening and enjoying our relationship together. Three of Wands ‘Expansion’
Here we have another three — the Three of Wands following the Three of Pentacles. I recognize that I am a strange and alien deck. It is not going to be easy to have a superficial relationship with me. Also you have to push past an inherent aversion that you feel for me. You will be challenged both to meditate and pray each time we work together; and to dig into the written guide that comes with me. I’m unique. I’m different. I’m worth it. I can bring unique insights and take you to places where you might not go on your own. Trust me and stay with the process.
6. What lesson are you here to share with me right now? Nine of Cups ‘Generosity’
It’s all about entertainment. When you are my guest, I pull out all of the stops. I’m going to serve up plenty of wisdom and practical guidance but it’s going to go down easy. Things are bright, they are pretty and they are in constant motion. Lots of eye candy. I have a heart of gold and I really do want you to enjoy your readings and your life.
