The Past Month, card No. 1 gives an opportunity to look back over the entire previous month with an eye to what theme(s) played out, what lessons were learned.

Cards 2 through 5 look at the energy for each of the four upcoming lunar weeks. It’s a snapshot look at what to expect and what to look out for.

Developing an awareness of the phases of the moon is a great spiritual practice.  This is the Star Tarot by Cathy McClelland.

Yes, that's the great power of a combined lunar-solar calendar like the Jewish calendar. You always know where you are concerning the Moon phases.

How do you like the Star Tarot? It's beautiful but very very busy, and the book is so affirmative, empowering and positive that all card meanings seem to resemble. But the blue is magical and the whole deck has a strong starry energy.

I agree, @Nemia, that this is a very beautiful deck.  My own take on cards is also always empowering and affirmative.  I have several big disappointment in the deck.  One is that everyone looks perfect and beautiful.  The representation of people is too idealistic and not realistic.  Two is that there are no black people in this deck.  Not one.  We have some very attractive Native Americans but just not enough ethnic diversity.  So many people look like perfect princesses and princes/kings and queens.  It has until recently been one of the four decks that I show people for face to face readings -- my go to deck for question of the Assiyah world (the material world).  I have now replaced it with the Magical Nature Tarot that has a lot of diversity in its depictions of humans.

Yes, I find it very meaningful to think in terms of the lunar phases.  My free Tarot Netivot newsletter, comes out for each lunar week.  The reading focuses on the 'card of the week'.  I have assigned a different Tarot card to each lunar week in the year.  It's very interesting to move through the year in this way.  It's gives me better insight than working with the solar monthly thing.  You have probably noticed, too, that my months follow the Jewish calendar system and begin with Rosh Chodesh.
