RavenOfSummer Posted November 3, 2017 Posted November 3, 2017 I know nothing about this except the attached picture, and that it is supposed to be released in June 2018. This one won't be for me...I'm not a big TV person so I know a lot of the references will be lost on me. (I already don't know two of the shows in this picture!) But I'm sure a lot of people will love this!
Tarot dance Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 I know nothing about this except the attached picture, and that it is supposed to be released in June 2018. This one won't be for me...I'm not a big TV person so I know a lot of the references will be lost on me. (I already don't know two of the shows in this picture!) But I'm sure a lot of people will love this! ...Well, i am a big TV person. I'm watching Alien: Directors Cut on TV as i am posting this...I go back and forth...TV, post, TV, post... ...But I just looked at the pic you posted and guess what....I don't know what TV series those are referencing...Like you I don't think this one is for me either... ...It would probably be like the Golden Age of Hollywood Tarot that I was so excited about getting but once I got it fouind it a great disappointment... ...Now, what am I going to have for lunch/brunch...hmm
Trogon Posted November 5, 2017 Posted November 5, 2017 Clockwise from the top left; "Breaking Bad", "The Addams Family" and "Mork & Mindy". I would guess from the context, that "The Addams Family" probably references the old 1964-1966 series. (The remake from the '90's wasn't near as good, IMO.) "Mork & Mindy" of course gave Robin Williams his big break playing the alien Mork who is befriended by Mindy. And "Breaking Bad" is a more recent show ('08-'13) about a chemistry teacher who finds he has cancer and turns to making drugs as a way to make money.

Hope you're enjoying your lunch :) Clockwise from the top left; "Breaking Bad", "The Addams Family" and "Mork & Mindy". I knew Addams Family and Mork & Mindy, although I had some help with the latter as well. Just showed the picture to my husband- he thinks the Magician from the box cover is Dexter.
EmpyreanKnight Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 I think the Magician is Patrick Jane from The Mentalist. His outfit in the card is similar to what he wears here:
RavenOfSummer Posted November 6, 2017 Author Posted November 6, 2017 I think the Magician is Patrick Jane from The Mentalist. His outfit in the card is similar to what he wears here: Yes, that does look like him!! I'll have to let my husband know he was wrong :P
EmpyreanKnight Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 I kinda like this one. But I hope that they'd also release a Trainwreck Reality Show Tarot that features high-quality TV shows of impeccable taste and sublime artistry, like Botched, Hoarders, Jerry Springer (❤), Love Island, etc.
Tanga Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 Hmmm. Not impressed. ;) (that does not look like 'Patrick Jane'). I would recommend "Heart of Stars" Tarot - that's mostly movies. Really nice artwork imo: http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/cards/heart-of-stars-tarot/
EmpyreanKnight Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 I'm sure the Magician is Patrick Jane. I watched the first season of The Mentalist, and the Magician is a perfect fit for his persona, aside from that outfit. Also, one can see that the character in the Tarot box holds one of those yellow numbered evidence markers that investigators put in crime scenes. It's him. :)
Tanga Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 I'm sure the Magician is Patrick Jane. I watched the first season of The Mentalist, and the Magician is a perfect fit for his persona, aside from that outfit. Also, one can see that the character in the Tarot box holds one of those yellow numbered evidence markers that investigators put in crime scenes. It's him. :) Lol. Well I recognized Mork and Mindy by what they are wearing and the egg sun. Who's the guy at the top grimly mixing stuff?
EmpyreanKnight Posted December 30, 2017 Posted December 30, 2017 I think that's Walter White, the anti-hero of Breaking Bad. He's a chemist/teacher who turned to manufacturing high-quality illegal drugs. He's a baddie, so I hope they didn't make him Temperance. He's very much unbalanced, so yeah.
EmpyreanKnight Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 Tbh tho, I was thinking about how this deck would hold up 20, 30 years from now. Would the TV series that are shown in the cards turn into memorable classics or would they just become obscure, nearly-forgotten shows that at best, have some cult followers? I love LoS's offerings and last year has been particularly fruitful for them, but I may have to pass on this one.
Starlight Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 I'm sure the Magician is Patrick Jane. I watched the first season of The Mentalist, and the Magician is a perfect fit for his persona, aside from that outfit. Also, one can see that the character in the Tarot box holds one of those yellow numbered evidence markers that investigators put in crime scenes. It's him. :) Yup, it's Patrick Jayne. I watched the first season of The Mentalist a long, long time ago and the drawing of the smiley in red behind him? That was what the killer left behind on one of the walls in his family home. (It was his arc, I suspect. Trying to find the man who took his family from him.)
EmpyreanKnight Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 Ok, the first pic is the Wheel of Fortune, featuring Game of Thrones. The second pic is the Emperor, who is Frank Underwood from House of Cards! The third one is the Moon card, showing Detective Cooper and Laura Palmer from Twin Peaks. What show is depicted in the Star card tho? I surmise that the fifth pic shows the card back.
Starlight Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 What show is depicted in the Star card tho? It's something sci-fi - Serenity or Firefly maybe?
EmpyreanKnight Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 The Star does depict Jewel Staite and the Serenity ship from Firefly. Great catch, Starlight! :D
Starlight Posted January 13, 2018 Posted January 13, 2018 Oh yay! I got to the Firefly series late - such a pity it got axed. It was good.
EmpyreanKnight Posted January 28, 2018 Posted January 28, 2018 Lo Scarabeo just announced that the TV Series Tarot is going to be released on February 6 2018 - just 2 weeks from now!
gregory Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 And I now have it - and can't reference half the shows. Anyone help me ?
Saturn Celeste Posted August 13, 2018 Posted August 13, 2018 And I now have it - and can't reference half the shows. Anyone help me ? I always said to myself I would sit down and jot down all the shows I could think of but I guess this is not that day! lol >:D

EmpyreanKnight Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 The Moon is definitely Twin Peaks, The Lovers is Mork and Mindy (just look at the costumes!) while The Emperor is House of Cards. 5 if Wands is Spartacus while 9 of Wands is Band of Brothers. Just caught up in a study group presently, but I'll post and confirm more later. :)
EmpyreanKnight Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 Btw The Wheel of Fortune is Game of Thrones, the Devil is Hannibal, while 6 of Swords is Vikings. Laters!
Ratty Posted August 14, 2018 Posted August 14, 2018 The World is Friends. The six dots. The sundaes and the sofa are from Central Perk. The Tower might be The Man From UNCLE. Seven of Cups: Black Mirror? Page of Pentacles: Sherlock. King of Wands: Designated Survivor? Nine of Swords: Desperate Housewives? Knight of Swords: Sons of Anarchy?
