Lauren Forestell Lenormand Reproductions Assistance

Hello, I hope I'm asking this in the right section of the forum, I have a quick question about a lenormand deck. I recently purchased a mini Daveluy Lenormand from thegameofhope shop. I tested out roughly the size of the mini with a ruler before deciding and went with a mini. Since that deck has both verses and card inserts, I'm wondering now if maybe the mini will be too mini.

I've been poking around on the web for size example of a mini traditional deck with card inserts but have not found any. If there are members here with a copy of a thegameofhope repro mini with inserts could you possibly share a size comparison? And are the images and inserts clearly seen when reading a tableau?

In advance thank you!

I'm at work right now so I can't take any size comparison photos, but I will say that unless your close vision is EXTREMELY bad, you should be OK with a mini. I've never known anyone at all to complain.

Is the image clear or does it scrunch under the insert and verse?

Nothing is scrunched, it's clear. 😁

I meant to stop by and respond sooner, apologies. Thank you for the input, I'm definitely looking forward to the deck. I'm blind, well I wear glasses, but I don't think it should be much of an issue under good lighting, especially since the card images looked quite striking amidst the white background.

40knows, I don't know if you mean blind tongue in cheek or getting there literally, but Tarot Garden now offer a braille-ing the cards service for future reference.

A lot of people are considered legally blind without corrective lenses. They can still see, it's just very blurry. It's not the same as being what people think of as blind and requiring Braille. So yes, a person can be technically "blind" and still see well enough to read cards. It's a bit of an issue: since their vision is correctable with lenses, they don't qualify for help, but often they can't afford glasses. (A lot of people in the US have to drive under those circumstances. It can be dangerous.)

I don't know if any of that applies to 40knows, but I took their post simply to mean they can see, but not well.

Since I'm home this evening, I can finally post a comparison photo. A standard size RWS, a bridge sized Lenormand, and one of Lauren's minis:

I meant to stop by here sooner. I recieved the mini deck, thank you Katrinka for the image comparison it alleviated my worry that the deck would be blurry and unreadable for me. Thankfully, I also received the deck much earlier than anticipated. It is gorgeous. Definitely portable as it's real mini but I love that the images are clear and I can read everything at a glance in a tableau. I am planning on adding a couple more of these lenormand reproductions to my collection. They are truly lovely.

It's actually card no. 9, the Queen of Spades.

LOL I need to be off the internet and definitely not posting at this hour!  Thanks for the link.

I hadn't looked at Lauren's site in a while.... the extra details make this deck a temptation. And I now I remember the temptation of her Dodal, as well! That might have just turned into a pricey curiosity on my part. 🙂
