Hello! I'm Laura

Featured Replies

Hello everyone! My name's Laura and I'm in the Seattle area. I'm a lifelong student of the esoteric arts, though I'm just getting back into Tarot after many ears' hiatus. It's good to be here.

I love to learn things. Astrology's always been my main interest (a decade or two ago I worked as a pro astrologer, doing readings, writing a syndicated column, doing articles for various online sites) but my visual arts career took off and I ran with that instead. Now that I'm nearly 50, I've suddenly realized that somewhere along the way I lost my sense of connection; it's time to start seriously searching again, if you know what I mean.

I'd say I was an intermediate Tarot student, looking to deepen my personal practice. I joined this community because it seems to welcomes a wide variety of Tarot conversation, from practical guidance to the more intellectually driven theoretical discussions. Also, deck collecting is a terrible, terrible habit...you guys can enable, right?

Glad to be here! 🙂

Hi and welcome to TT&M @blue_crow_laura, glad to have you join us!

We have some of the world's best deck enablers! :78496:They are so good at it that we have a thread just for that purpose 😁

Welcome Laura! As joy mentioned above, we do actually have a de-enabling thread somewhere here, but I don’t think anybody posted in that in a long time 😄

Hi Laura,

Nice to have you here.

I'm curious...do you think your knowledge of astrology helps you a lot when doing Tarot readings....or just a little...or do you keep the systems separate in your mind when doing a reading?

Thanks,

Don

Hi Laura!  I hope you really enjoy your time here.  Not only are we in similar situations (I returned to tarot and online tarot communities after years of hiatus) just last September, but I'm your neighbor to the north up in Everett.

Yay for deck collecting and people who understand! Thanks for the welcome, everyone. I look forward to joining in.

And hi from Issaquah, Loracular...we really are practically neighbors. 🙂

welcome Laura, the more members posting the stronger the forum, jump in everywhere 🙂

I'm south of you a bit, thinking there doesn't seem to be much chance of a white holiday this year.

Our Deck of the Week group is facilitated by a Seattle area member.

Welcome, @blue_crow_laura! There are so many different perspectives here. I find this a wonderful place.
