Hello all!

I am trying to locate a printer that will print and cut round tarot/oracle cards that are larger than 3.5" in diameter (think the size of the Motherpeace deck or the Archetype deck from Kim Krans). I am aiming for between 5 and 5.5" and all the printers I have checked out so far don't seem to offer any round cards larger than 3.5".

Any ideas?

Much thanks,

Jennifer

You could always contact those people and ask. Kim might not know what printer they used, but the representative for the publisher would. And I have heard that the creators of Motherpeace are happy to answer questions as well. Its worth a shot.

is this a personal deck or one you hope to market? If the latter, you might better ask if anyone would want cards that big?

Yes, this. It is a niche market. I used to own both the big and the small motherpeace, and I found the larger version hard to shuffle. Round decks are a niche in and of themselves, but large round decks are even more so. Though I do understand that creators sometimes just wants what they want. Its not always about marketability. So I guess it depends.

You could try cartamundi:

If they don't do it, they could probably tell you who will.

Or these people do them, but I don't know what sizes:

I imagine some of the Chinese printers dothem - but I'm not sure I'd want to go there....

If you dare:

Thanks for the suggestions.

We will be marketing them, though only a small run to start. I will certainly send an inquiring email to the Motherpeace gang, and to Kim Krans as well. Good idea.

Part of the reason for a larger card is the importance of being able to properly contemplate the imagery while doing a spread...littler cards need simpler imagery, in my opinion, and I fear the imagery we have created won't translate well. However, I take the point about not having them to big to shuffle or be unwieldy in the hands (also take up to much space on the table). I guess I could print a couple of  them out on cardstock in different sizes and see what feels best.

Thank you all for your generosity!

Raggydoll,

I just looked at your deck-in-progress. What a beautiful, dynamic and full on inclusive set of archetypes. Absolutely stunning, so powerful. I love where you are coming from.
