Delta Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 (edited) My intuition was always strong and I feel like it's really developed a lot in the last couple of years. However, I have some issues like OCD where I get very obsessive about things (especially negative) and tend to ruminate when something triggers me. This is messing with my intuition, because sometimes I can't differentiate if my OCD is acting up or if I'm legitimately picking up a vibe that someone isn't well intentioned towards me. For example, I met up with this woman a couple of times. We both live in a foreign country so we have a few things in common. It was always polite, and nothing bad was said. But something always felt OFF. She had a strange vibe, and I always left our meetings feeling like it rubbed on me or something. My intuition turned out to be right a couple of meetings down the line where I realised she was insencere and controlling. Fast forward to today over a year later, she texted me hinting that she might be in my neck of the woods this summer, and I'm not too excited about meeting up again. I'd like to have a good spread for situations like this where I'm not sure if I'm just being overly cautious or not. Edited February 9, 2021 by Delta
WildWoman71 Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 I often like a choice spread... 1 2 3 4 5 6 Top row this is what I will experience if I see her Bottom row - this what I will experience if I don't see her or something like that..you can be more specific with each card
katrinka Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 (edited) I wouldn't even use a dedicated spread, just make your questions specific and do a series of spreads, something like this: "What are her intentions in wanting to meet up with me?" "What does she want from me?" "Would it be beneficial for me to avoid her?" Etc. Draw a small number of cards for each, in order to keep the answers simple and clear. A line of three cards for each is sufficient. Edited February 9, 2021 by katrinka
Guest Posted February 9, 2021 Posted February 9, 2021 Three cards read in-line should suffice to describe her intentions. If you want something specific then the Lost Man spread works. Pick a court card for the individual, shuffle cut and then search for it in the deck. The two or three cards either side describe her intentions (motivations/where she comes from are behind the court card and goal is in the cards in front).
LogicalHue Posted February 10, 2021 Posted February 10, 2021 I'm a big fan of two card spreads where each card represents one option. So in the example of trying to figure out intuition or ocd I'd say one card would be for what you suspect and the other card would be for, essentially, not that. Which isn't very elegant sounding but I still think would be pretty clear. I feel like just doing a more general reading could get tricky if you're both questioning someone else's intentions but at the same time you're questioning your own intuition. If you were to get the Devil in your current example, would that be referring to their motivations or would it be telling you you're worrying about things that aren't there? So I think 2 sides/options is helpful.
Delta Posted February 17, 2021 Author Posted February 17, 2021 Thanks folks. The moment has sort of passed, but I'll come back to these if it arises again. 🙂 I like @katrinka's suggestion with the 3 cards for each question. In fact, I think I'll do 3s for everything from now on. It's definitely easier to read with a context.

I understand it represents the individual but would there be an additional reason in which it helps the reading? More context perhaps?

It is the true reflection of the person you are enquiring. It is them in the landscape of the cards. Going further, it determines the direction that you will read, e.g. the cards “behind” and “before.” The cards immediately either side will also describe the person. If one goes further, and uses the full first operation (opening of the key), you count in the direction, too.
Wyrdkiss Posted July 31, 2021 Posted July 31, 2021 (edited) Greetings, A bit late to the party but one card with a penetrating deck (I usually choose the Thoth) can also be surprisingly informative. Regardless, best wishes and I'm glad you are finding these suggestions helpful. Edited July 31, 2021 by Wyrdkiss spelling
