Trogon Posted July 6, 2017 Posted July 6, 2017 I wanted to post about a site I had found out about years ago. It is an on-line store of Tarot called Tarot Garden I have purchased a few decks from them, they have reasonable prices and very reasonable shipping terms (U.S.). And if you register with them (free), you can set up a database of your collection - this is based off of their Tarot database, but that is pretty extensive and includes a lot of OOP decks. You can also build a wish-list there as well. ETA; I have no financial interest in this site - it is just a great site in my opinion. Edited to fix the screwed up link I put in ... ::)
Trogon Posted July 14, 2017 Author Posted July 14, 2017 Tarot Garden is moving to a new site, the new URL is; http://tarotgarden.mybigcommerce.com/ At this time, it doesn't appear that they still have the option of allowing you to create a database of your collection. I'd been thinking about creating my own ... so maybe it's just time to do that. They still have a lot of Tarot decks though.
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted July 14, 2017 Posted July 14, 2017 I've often wondered if they were still in business Both Jennette and Dan were once active members in the community
Rose Lalonde Posted July 15, 2017 Posted July 15, 2017 Thanks for the update! The new site looks nice.
Bodhiseed Posted July 16, 2017 Posted July 16, 2017 Thanks for the update, Trogon. I wonder how Dan and Jennette are doing?
Trogon Posted July 25, 2017 Author Posted July 25, 2017 I do recall that they were active on AT when I first joined I think. I haven't really had an opportunity to communicate with them for some time. After I registered on the new site I e-mailed them ... but I haven't checked my e-mail. :-[ But I assume they must be doing okay as they've set up the new site and are still in business.
EmpyreanKnight Posted September 25, 2017 Posted September 25, 2017 I haven't visited there for quite some time, but whoa the difference between the old and new sites is like night and day. Its aesthetic is so thoroughly modern now - it looks like it vaulted right into the 21st century. Kudos to the owners of the site for the timely revamp.
MoonGypsy Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 I've often wondered if they were still in business Both Jennette and Dan were once active members in the community i always loved Tarot Garden...Jeanette was always quite helpful. And their service was fast and professional. i purchased quite a few decks from them at one time... And i remember getting some good deals on their auctions.
gregory Posted September 29, 2017 Posted September 29, 2017 They seem to be doing OK - Dan is doing most of it, as Jeannette's "real job" keeps her busy. I don't like the new site - the search function is dire, and the library is gone :(

I don't like the new site - the search function is dire, and the library is gone :( i checked it out, and i agree with you greggers....i don't like the knew site either...for the same reasons.
Trogon Posted October 7, 2017 Author Posted October 7, 2017 They seem to be doing OK - Dan is doing most of it, as Jeannette's "real job" keeps her busy. I don't like the new site - the search function is dire, and the library is gone :( I do agree about functionality. The library was an excellent function, being able to see information on old, out of print decks was great. Though admittedly I haven't tried searching specifically for old ones yet. I have tried searching a few times though, one issue I had found was that it was a little difficult to tell when something was not for sale ... but they seem to have fixed that by adding a note that the product is "... not available ...", which is helpful. The thing I miss the most from the old site was the ability to set up your own database of decks you own. Fortunately, I was able to print my list before that was gone. All in all, it definitely has been modernized, but I will miss the old site.
Jewel Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 Tarot Garden is moving to a new site, the new URL is; http://tarotgarden.mybigcommerce.com/ This site does not come up for me. I have found them here http://tarotgarden.com/ is that the correct site? I always liked shopping at Tarot Garden, but they have not replied to e-mails I sent in the last few months so I am very hesitant to purchase from that site because I am not sure if it is really working ....
EmpyreanKnight Posted January 22, 2018 Posted January 22, 2018 Tarot Garden is moving to a new site, the new URL is; http://tarotgarden.mybigcommerce.com/ This site does not come up for me. I have found them here http://tarotgarden.com/ is that the correct site? Same here. I think they used the mybigcommerce URL to test their new site and when all was clear, they scrapped the old website under tarotgarden.com, uploaded the new one they tested in mybigcommerce, and then cleared the latter.
PathWalker Posted January 27, 2018 Posted January 27, 2018 The loss of their excellent library is indeed dreadful - it was one of the most comprehensions tarot visual resources - very sad that it couldn't have been kept as part of their new venture. PW
EmpyreanKnight Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 I hope that it will. The Thoth comparison resource there was very useful.
gregory Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 I hope that it will. The Thoth comparison resource there was very useful. Ah - that I can handle: saw it coming.... Attached. Tarot_Garden_Library-_Thoth_Comparison_Table.pdf
EmpyreanKnight Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 OMG gregory, thanks! Just give me a sec, I also have a treat for you. ;)
EmpyreanKnight Posted February 28, 2018 Posted February 28, 2018 Finally figured something out! Just check my latest post over here, gregory: https://www.thetarotforum.com/tarot-decks/lo-scarabeo-catalogo-italiano-2018/msg22203/#msg22203

But the new site seems limited and "cold," somehow. Dan is sometimes active on Facebook, and he continues to promote Tarot Garden "reverse auctions" from time to time. Though I'm not sure they've had a reverse auction since switching to the new site.
