Hello! I would like to see everyone’s favourite deck and why 🙂 mine is definitely Gold Tarot by Liz Dean.

When it comes to traditional decks, I really like the Llewellyn Classic. For non traditional, I like the Wildwood deck. Only have 5 decks though.

  1. My favorite deck, since I got it a few years ago, is Zircus Magi by Duck Soup.  I love the colours and the subject.  I always loved going to the circus and I admire all those in it for the hard work of that lifestyle.  Also, it is just a great tarot deck not just a novelty.  Other Duck Soup decks are on my favorites list too.  Check them out.  🎟️

I think you were asking about all tarot decks @lotiiA_ rather than just playing cards, so I moved this over to the tarot decks area where it fits better 🙂

I started out with a Rider Waite Smith a looong time ago, so I suppose it will always be top of my list. My favourite version, at the moment 😉, is James Ricklef's RWS 2.0. The coloration is lovely, the linework is crisp, and they feel amazing.

There are so many for me it is impossible to name one.

I would sit for hours on the now defunct pages of tarot passages, wicce tarot and aeclectic tarot looking up decks, wishing this one was published. Amazon now offers artwork by the deck before it was just the box

And here in the deck libary is some decks.

Kickstarter, etsy, gamecrafter are some other sites to find some indie decks.

So many and manu go out of print in 2 to 3 years .

For sheer beauty - de la Rea. For reading - toss up between Pagan Cats and Sweet Twilight.

Seconding RWS. The art is really captivating. Pamela Colman Smith really imbued the art with equal parts daydream-ish playfulness and profound symbolism. Looking at the cards puts my brain is a nice, special place. I've not found a deck yet that compares to the way I get wrapped up in the RWS deck,

I feel like I switch up on this a lot.

For personal readings, it's always been Hello Tarot. I have a laminated original black and white, and a Tingley edition; I swap between them. I only just landed an Idiosyncradeck and am still getting used to it, and the Fyodor Pavlov is also a new favorite.

For writing, my current go-to is This Might Hurt, as it depicts people, as well as Lazy Crow.

For Tarot mine is the Dark Mansions. I love that its RW based so its still beginner friendly. Before that it was the Pearls of Wisdom deck.

Since I cant read Tarot very well yet without looking up every card I lean on Lenormand more. It would be really hard to choose a single favorite  of those. Chontras Minute Lenormad is a favorite as well as Sawyers, Gilded Relverie, Ethony's, Merrick and one I ordered from overseas that begins with an S. I never can remember the name of that deck.

To read for myself with, my favourite deck is the Dreaming Way. She is so clear to read with, so honest, so patient. And she told me she only wanted to work with me for personal readings. To read for others with, it's the Parrott Tarot. She has such amazing energy that I've never had to cleanse her, even after heavy readings. And the deck whose art/depictions I love the most overall is the Textured Tarot. She's diverse and thought-provoking.

The Wonderland Tarot in a Tin is my first deck and will always be very special to me. The LWB is the best LWB I've ever come, actually indispensable unlike other LWBs which one can do without.

It's so difficult for me to choose just one deck, can you tell? xD If I absolutely had to choose one deck to use forever it would be the Dreaming Way, because my personal readings are the most powerful part of my practice, though I'd be sad about giving up reading for others.

It's hard as it changes. The ones that 'survived' time are the Jolanda, Belline, Mansions of the Moon, Ingesrid Blakstad's, Astrology of love, Nusantara, Prague, Shidhe, ,so on, so on! I am using them as a reading decks. I also use for reading the new decks that I am buying,

The Deviant Moon, Shaded and Archeon gives me always surprisingly good reading.

Even though the Mary-El Tarot has been nipping at its heels for an age, my favourite still remains the Druidcraft Tarot. It's the deck that made me fall in love with tarot and the book is magnificent.

It's not the deck I use the most but if I could only have one, it'd be that one, no question.

It's a toss-up between the Minchiate Etruria and the Sola Busca Tarocchi.
