arlotar Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 1 2 3 4 5 -> surface layer 6+a -> bridge to the surface b -> the self 7+c -> bridge to the abyss 8 9 10 11 12 -> abyssal layer [1-12 = cards placed facing up] [a-c = cards placed facing down] [+ = cards are stacked on top of each other] Surface Layer - the perceivable, "objective" world and how it is influenced by the other layers of the spread. Made to show a big picture view with no time axis - can be seen either as the perceived present OR as the constant state of being of this cycle of your journey. Bridge to the Surface - outward and inward actions you can take or are already taking to grow closer to the surface, to become more attuned to the physical facet of your existence. First instance of a Hidden card (facing down). These cards represent repressed or momentarily unreachable facets of the psyche. They are considered more important than the Obvious cards (facing up) because of this. The Self - how you view your current/general situation through the limited lens of human perception. Convictions, fears and beliefs (usually preconceived and ill-informed) that you may hold. The reason for this card to be Hidden is that it refers to very deeply rooted matters, perhaps even our sense of normalcy itself. It is the Self unaffected by individual influence, so it includes facets of yourself that you might reject or dislike. Bridge to the Abyss - outward and inward actions you can take or are already taking to descend deeper into the abyss of your psyche. Again, be mindful of the Hidden card here, especially if you do not wish to delve deeper into your psyche at the moment. Abyssal Layer - the machinations of the infinite psyche, things that happen to you and belong to you as well. Things that are part of you but different from you at the same time. This layer mirrors the Surface Layer. Thank you for reading! If you do try my reading and are willing to leave me some feedback, I would appreciate it.
Sar Posted October 9, 2021 Posted October 9, 2021 I can try this spread in october with the Whimsical Tarot.
Eric13 Posted October 23, 2021 Posted October 23, 2021 I like the name of this spread! Somewhat tongue-and-check to cards.
