VGimlet Posted July 30, 2021 Author Posted July 30, 2021 Trinity tarot this week - it came as an extra I had forgotten about with the Transient Light tarot. 🙂
Amberjune Posted July 30, 2021 Posted July 30, 2021 thank you for the new thread , VG. I'm in with the Jolanda Tarot and the Goddess on the Go oracle. Wishing everyone a wonderful week. I'm off work and drinking in the free time, recharging and relaxing.
Mi-Shell Posted July 31, 2021 Posted July 31, 2021 It is the August long weekend and I have to do a line up of Greenwood Tarot reading for clients, so Greenwood it will be this week.♥
Nisaba Posted July 31, 2021 Posted July 31, 2021 May I jump in? I have a new deck! The Magic Gate Tarot. I'm not sure I'll be doing many formal spreads with it this week, but I'll certainly be getting to know it, and hopefully gloating over the images. Then again, I may actually do a reading. 🙂
Nisaba Posted July 31, 2021 Posted July 31, 2021 And now ... that breathtaking moment of unboxing, which I have put off for almost 24 hours! Quel restraint! The plastic outer wrap was hard to remove: cross. There was no inner shrink-wrap: tick. The backs are the same upside-down as they are rightway up: cross. The way I opened it, I saw the backs first. The backs have a lovely geometric diagram on them that reminds me of Newtonian scientific sketches, which is lovely. There is an eye on the centre of it, and really? An eye? After so many Tarot decks with eyes on their backs, isn't that a bit of a cliche? I hold my breath and turn it over. No title cards! Great! That is a very big tick. Turns out that the card on the box which I thought was the Moon, was the Fool, presenting first. The Majors are unnumbered, but present in RWS order. Gregory would like Death. It took me a while to see the skull and even longer to see the crucified figure - to me on first viewing it was all about the tangle of machinery, the rose and the snake. Now Temperance. A fish-bodied centaur? Okay. A clock, in front of another clock. A castle wall. Ivy. Ribbons. I can tell I'm going to enjoy this deck.
katrinka Posted July 31, 2021 Posted July 31, 2021 I'm caught between "That sounds profoundly horrible" and "Nissy likes it so it must be a pretty good deck." 🤣 Looking forward to seeing how it reads.
VGimlet Posted July 31, 2021 Author Posted July 31, 2021 (edited) Welcome Nisaba! It's been a while!!!! And of course you can jump in! Edited July 31, 2021 by VGimlet
vulprix Posted July 31, 2021 Posted July 31, 2021 I plan on using the Fairy Lights Tarot this week. (My copy is barely a tarot... I chopped off everything I could so that it’s just art. Now I have finally been using it!)
Bodhiseed Posted July 31, 2021 Posted July 31, 2021 (edited) Welcome @Nisaba! I'm going to have to check that deck out. 😊 I'm in this week with the Tarot of the Abyss and the Lantern Oracle. Beautiful images in the oracle, but several of the the New Ageisms for phrases make me cringe.😏 Edited July 31, 2021 by Bodhiseed

Bodhiseed Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 This week I'll be using the Tarot of the Abyss, created by Ana Tourian and published by U.S. Games. Paired with it will be the Lantern Oracle, created by Angelina Mirabito, illustrated by Yuly Alejo, and published through Blue Angel. Today's draws are the Four of Cups and Creative Power: Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time. – Thomas Merton This young man napping in the branches of a tree seems exhausted. A vacation with others, the end of a big project, or the day after a celebration can leave anyone feeling worn out in body and spirit. A bit of solitude for restoration might work wonders, but what if the apathy persists? The Creative Power card suggests this has to do with generating ideas and producing them creatively. Every artist or craftsperson has probably experienced a block that seems to keep them in neutral gear. Focusing on how bone dry we are won't help us make any progress. Pablo Picasso stated, "Inspiration exists, but it has to find you working." I'd probably change 'working' to 'playing.' Whatever creative work we do, can we try doing it just for fun, not to make something that fits our judgment of 'good'? Or perhaps we could try another form altogether - writing, sewing, painting, woodworking, etc. - just for the heck of it. When we lose ourselves in play, we might just find the thread to our creative power dangling right in front of us.
AJ-ish/Sharyn Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 (edited) I am stepping back from the world a bit, for awhile, so am using my personally made SoulCollage deck. I've 'only' got 126 cards made, think that will be enough? 🙂 Also away camping in a beautiful spot. Here is to a great safe healthy August for everyone! edited to add: welcome home Nisaba~ Edited August 1, 2021 by AJ-ish/Sharyn

Dang, woman, you have been busy with those magazines, glue sticks and scissors! I am in awe of the cards you've shared. 🤩
toj Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 Can I join? Haven’t done this since AT days. The Guardian Tarot got me back into reading tarot. The artwork is rather strange yet the mood of it speaks to me.
VGimlet Posted August 1, 2021 Author Posted August 1, 2021 Yes, welcome back @toj ! Trinity tarot is very basic. and square. Interesting.
Nisaba Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 The Magic Gate is good to shuffle, even though it's still got the Tarot equivalent of "the new car smell" (which in Tarot decks is not a smell). All the Majors are bright and quirky, and as unusual as the ones I initially described. I like that the pips are unillustrated, and I love that their symbols are different, is every sword on a sword card will be different, every cup on a cup card will be different. I pulled a few cards for myself, but I've always been a cow at reading for myself - it just can't be done - and in this post-covid world it's a long time between clients. I couldn't make head nor tail of the cards I pulled for myself, but that's par for the course. Ah well, sooner or later I'll have another client. 🙂
Nisaba Posted August 1, 2021 Posted August 1, 2021 (edited) It flipped! Oh, and I also LOVE that it doesn't have a LWB! Edited August 1, 2021 by Nisaba

Here’s to a new client, soon! 🙂 They will like this deck I am sure!
Petalene Posted August 2, 2021 Posted August 2, 2021 I’m using the Crow Tarot and Urban Crow Oracle. Normally, I don’t like decks to match too much, but this works. Here’s a reading from today. These decks are gorgeous and amazing. : )
Bodhiseed Posted August 2, 2021 Posted August 2, 2021 @Nisaba, I like the rooster used for the Sun. 🙂 @Petalene, that Urban Crow Oracle looks interesting!
ballerina Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 This week I'm using the Sacred Circle Tarot. I haven't looked at it for a couple of years!
