toj Posted August 3, 2021 Posted August 3, 2021 (edited) I am working with The Guardian Tarot this week. It was an impulse purchase on an impulse trip to my favorite metaphysical bookstore in town a few months ago. The artwork is rather odd and did not pull me in at all because it combines humans and trees. The color palette got me as well as the first sentence on the box description: “Trees are guardians of our lives, but there is a drastic contrast between the living and the dead in nature and spirit.” My first reading with them that night after a few hours shuffling was like a hit on the head. Today’s 3 card spread: The Fool > Five of Wands > Three of Cups. No real question, just tell me what I need to know. This deck is a little bit more subdued than others and to me implies the past is always with and a part of you more than other decks. The 5 of Wands card shows that here more than the other 2 cards. Bodhiseed Posted August 4, 2021 Posted August 4, 2021 That is an unusual deck @toj! There is both a 'strangely drawn to' feeling and a 'what in the world' feeling at the same time. The tree people sort of remind me of the potato-head people in the Sun and Moon.
