seven stars Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Oh I wrote this big long excited thing and then it said it was a forum I wasn't allowed to post in....maybe this won't post either, who knows. Anyway....a special edition of the Deck of the Bastard is featured in a movie that's going to be coming out on December 5th. Attached are the places on On Demand it can be seen & then in April it will be on Showtime. It's called Avenge the Crows, & it stars Lou Diamond Phillips, Danay Garcia, Danny Trejo, Michael Flores, Steve Bauer & a lot of others. If we can get enough of a Tarot community stir going we just might be able to make ourselves a TARGET AUDIENCE for future movies. As it is, the deck is on the screen more than most of the actors. And it's like, no one but us readers even knows what the cards means....it's like our secret language up there on the screen! Which is pretty cool! I hope some of you will see it & comment on it! Kind of a weird promotion - I'm not even making any money off this but I'm sure excited about it.
Padma Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 It's very cool! Congrats! :D Did they not pay you though, to feature your deck...? Since it is in many scenes, you should at least be able to claim some pay for it! You just reminded me by saying this that I have not used my Deck of the Bastard in a long time! I think I need to dig it out :)
seven stars Posted December 2, 2017 Author Posted December 2, 2017 Oh ya he paid me for the work I did & for a couple of extra decks. I didn't charge a lot extra though. I got invited to the premiere, though, & got to read cards for the people in the movie so THAT was pretty cool.
seven stars Posted December 2, 2017 Author Posted December 2, 2017 This is the promo flier for the movie - I wish I could post you a clip here.
Rose Lalonde Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 Congratulations!!! Nice that you got to read for the cast too. :)
EmpyreanKnight Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 The movie sounds interesting. Congratulations, seven stars. :D
Bodhiseed Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 That's awesome Seven Stars - congrats on your success! :D
seven stars Posted December 2, 2017 Author Posted December 2, 2017 thanks for the congrats....it was pretty fun. I felt like I was a star in the movie since my cards were up there so much. Nice to have that feeling once in a lifetime, huh? I hope if anyone does see it they'd discuss the card choices the director made. Some were in the script. There was one place that I thought should have been a different card but after I thought about it, the chosen card worked.
