Niobium Posted September 3, 2021 Posted September 3, 2021 (edited) So it turns out I wasn't the only one wanting a heavier deck! They've now got a 350gsm deck available, looks like the same set of cards as the first edition 320gsm. I wonder if I should sell my first ed. 'light' deck to someone who'd prefer it, then get myself the heavier one... Classic 320gsm deck, should be available again soon: https://quiabsurdum.com/product/terra-volatile-tarot/ Heavier 350gsm deck, available now: https://quiabsurdum.com/product/the-heavier-terra-volatile/ Edited September 3, 2021 by Niobium
ironwing Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Hi, @Niobium! I'm looking at getting myself the Classic—does the first edition have all the alternatives and the Vessels suit? I slept on this deck and only just recently warmed up to it.
Niobium Posted September 10, 2021 Author Posted September 10, 2021 Yes, or at least my copy does. A very big deck! A 350 version is going to be rather hefty, I'm surprised they've not gone to a 2-part box.
ironwing Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 (edited) The Heavier is indeed very thick! (The cardstock used brings to mind The Wild Unknown cardstock.) I did use all the alt cards + the Vessels suit. It’s lovely, but shuffling it is…less lovely. For daily use, I’d probably go with the Classic Tarot when it’s re-released. Nemia Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 I have the heavier version and ordered the expansion pack, even though it's said that the backs are darker. I don't care, I can shuffle without looking at the backs 😉 and I really love this deck. Beautiful artwork, and sooo flexible. You can really build your own deck from the many different options. I also like studying the majors by comparing different interpretations, and this deck offers the facets of the majors as independent versions of the card.
BriarRose Posted April 18, 2023 Posted April 18, 2023 If you are asking if you should sell it, I would say no. It is a sought after deck. I was in the AT Era and I can tell you that I for see the Terra Volatile 1st edition only going up in price. Personally I would hang onto to it. And then buy the 2nd edition. Maybe start researching more expensive decks so you get my drift. No offense to anyone here but a lot of people ( back in the day) would suggest me selling a deck, or make suggestions how they clean out the old to buy the new. And then I'm out rare decks I used to have!!! One person said I wasn't being spiritual if I didn't gift her my Bolt Cutter. Now that deck us not around anymore. The ink&printing was different than all the rest. It didn't have those little circles on it. It was more like a block print ( not talking about art and design) . I mean the actual way in which it was printed.
