Renie Posted August 18, 2023 Posted August 18, 2023 Some of the stable combinations with Moon I have noticed: Moon, Rider - news from mother/relatives Moon, Bear - support from relatives Moon, Ship - arrival of relatives. It can also indicate development through spiritual practices. Snake, Moon - secret intrigues. Moon, Coffin - menopause in a woman. Moon, Bouquet - a gift from a relatives. Moon, Clouds - nervous breakdown. Moon, Child - pregnancy. Moon, Ring - emotional dependence (on something or someone). Moon, Cross - problems from relatives. Clouds, Moon, Anchor - alcoholism. If I see the Sun in a draw, I don’t say “others will see your success” but “you’ll experience success.” Similarly, the Stars can be seen by everyone, but their clarity and serenity apply specifically to the querent, everyone else is secondary. On the other hand, the Moon makes “the other” primary, the public comes to the foreground here. That relates very strongly to my understanding of astrological birth signs ...in astrology, your Moon sign is usually related to how others see you, while your Sun sign is your core personality—what makes you tick. As a tarot enthusiast, there are a few Lenormand cards that I have to grit my teeth and 'forget' tarot, while reading. The Moon is one of them. 🙂 (So is The Tower, etc.) It's a challenge to 'unlearn' something.
zadey Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 (edited) In addition to the meanings that are popularly associated with The Moon, I read somewhere (I am unable to recall the source) the Moon can also represent : Feelings, Emotions and Night time. In actual practice, I got the card for how someone was 'emotional' about something. So, now whenever the card appears, I always think about feelings and emotions. Edited August 20, 2023 by zadey
DanielJUK Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 It's worth reading some of the older posts in this thread @zadey, there are some compelling arguments made that Lenormand Moon is more about recognition than emotions 😀.

Yes certainly, I have also mentioned about fame/recognition aspect of the Moon in the Fox thread just to compare these two. Since, many answers, including the creator this thread already mentioned recognition and asked about what are the other things the Moon can represent, I thought I should add what else I've experienced with the Moon. I apologise if association of emotions with the Moon feels wrong and you can delete my comment to prevent people from learning wrong info, I don't mind. 😊
DanielJUK Posted August 20, 2023 Posted August 20, 2023 @zadey Some books and authors do associate emotions and feelings with Moon and some people use it for this card. It's okay to post your ideas about it, we want this to be a safe place for people to work out their ideas of each card. We want to keep your post because it's your experiences of the card 🙂 . It is disputed with traditional readers and that's why I wanted to point to the earlier discussion in the thread. I wouldn't have it as a main idea about the card but it's fine to discuss it as one possible meaning. The first mass produced Lenormand decks were published with the 1846 “Philippe” instruction sheet. Mary Greer has a copy on her blog - It's worth saving a copy because all the roots of the cards come from this text 🙂
